Most suck because the games they're based on only have enough story to move the game forward, like when people are like "I want a Halo movie!". Halo's story is a bland action vehicle designed to drive you from A to B so you can shoot aliens. It would not make a good movie, it would be just as bad as most other brainless action flicks.
But TLOU (like Uncharted) is mostly a cinematic experience anyway, with more focus on the characters and story than the gameplay (which is quite good but takes a back seat to the rest of it). So it would make a pretty good movie as long as they keep the tension and environment as tight as they did in the game, and got the right actors for Joel/Ellie.
Clearly no one clicked the actual link because despite its misleading URL, the real exciting part of it is Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) being in talks for Ellie.

I had that experience and hopefully I made a positive impression, but it's unbelievable how people can't deal with having a depressed friend. "I KEEP TELLING HIM ADVICE AND HE WON'T LISTEN! WHAT AN IDIOT, I HOPE HE STAYS DEPRESSED." Yeah, I... don't think you're helping. Lol. Thankfully we have a whole bunch of friends with depression active or passed. my gf also have an uhm... "shyness" thingie, which make stuff like aid of friends, or leaving the home, much harder though. Thanks for the support everyone! at least she has trusty duvon + Show Spoiler + X_X I'm actually mostly worried about the dog situation. It's a big stress on her, but it'd figuratively kill her to become one of those one-summer dog-owners... And I like the bugger too. Having a pet is immensely helpful for people with depression, especially dogs. If possibly, try to take a vast majority of the responsibility for it so she only has to deal with the positives. Yeah, I'm trying to. The thing is, I'm only so good at it, and it's a puppy so it will bark and bite and jump and pee and chase our cats alldayerrday (when it's not sleeping), and it stresses her up on about a level of standing naked in a crowd would.

Thanks for the offer but by that time my parents will be back (live in the same municipal, they're at our summer place though).
Btw, about game movies, anyone hyped about the warcraft movie? I was sooo not-hyped, but then I thought like, what if it's a movie about the warcraft storie, explained in a way that our relatives who just didn't get warcraft before can take part in. But I vaguely recall it being a tangent story?
PS. Capital of Sweden.

I have no hope for films these days, it saves me the time and trouble of having to try and blot out the memories of such. I already have to settle for jj abrams trying to make a Star Wars film, I really don't expect much from a video game film after what happened to every, single, one of them before hand.

I enjoyed Advent Children
|
I dunno Silent Hill was fun
|
and Doom has a really cool 1st person section that was the best part of the movie.
|
Advent Children was fan-wank for the purpose of fanwanking and made about as much sense to someone who didn't play FF7 as trying to explain the merits of pants to a rock.
Silent Hill was silly and while not the worst was not that good and then the sequel.. Doom is terrible, one scene does not a good film make.
Having said that, enjoy what you enjoy. Not like I care what any of you enjoy/don't enjoy.
|
Advent Children kind of shows how FF7 gameplay makes 0 sense whatsoever.
How can you allow a character with brawlers gloves be a good mage?

I actually liked the Doom movie. It was a decent action flick, with good action scenes that had a background to all the ultraviolence.

Advent Children didn't make any more sense for people who played the game either. Heck, about any additional material more or less relies on "LIFESTREAM IS MAGIC BITCH" for its plot devices.
The Tale of Princess Kaguya (not based on a game, it's folklore with some added stuff) was nice. And gorgeous. Oh so gorgeous.

First Tomb Raider movie was what I expected from the Tomb Raider games. First Resident Evil was pretty good imo. Silent Hill is ok-ish.
And I feel that steampunk needs some movie exposure which could be done with Bioshock universe.

Mass Effect movie... Metal Gear Solid movie... Last Of Us movie...
The potential is real

Aren't newers MGS games CGI movies already?
|
Advent Children was also CG wasn't it? If you gonna make a fan wank at least spend some money to get the real deal.
|
oh yeah mortal kombat, tomb raider and resident evil.

The MK movie is one of those things alongside megaman X that has been made invincible for me by nostalgia, someone can point out all the flaws all day to me and I'll still declare the MK movie as one of the all time greats because that was the definition of my shit when I was a child.

Soo, do I have to update anything for tonight, aside from League which is good and I guess SC2? Warning, the last time I played SC, Protoss was just 4gate or 2gate robo, nothing else, aka S1 of WoL >.>
E: holy fuck, SC2 is 4 years old already? o.O
Guess I might as well do this now, since boonmare ignored it/didn't see it last time

FF 6 remake will require dramatic overhaul of its outdated system. There is no way the players will accept the game with only a visual overhaul.
