The real issue is I don't think I'm for DMing and in that case no one else with little to no experience would be either...

A) Is there somewhere that has some nifty free to access storylines to start off with B) Easily understood rules (I just remember rolling for dmg, checks, etc.) C) An easy resource for my noob friends for character creation etc.

They'll have enough for one arc of a story, generally 1-3 dungeons plus story line leading up and through it. I've been part of a couple and they turn out ok, but having a story tailored to your group is more immersive, otherwise you just feel like dudes doing stuff. B) Easily understood rules (I just remember rolling for dmg, checks, etc.) hahaha no. Any good system is going to have books of rules. I mean, it's easy to memorize what your character does, his abilities and what to roll for your attacks and saves, that's fairly simple in any system. But anything more than that is going to get complex, especially if you're building encounters/locations/etc. C) An easy resource for my noob friends for character creation etc. Plenty of stuff online.

If there's like "oh I found this one place super useful for most stuff, just google the rest" thatt's what I'm looking for. I'll probably just wing it Cixah style and everyone will have a good time anyway. Anyone ever play Alternity?

Other than that, the Pokemon system we used for the campaign that just ended is found here, though that's the old system. The new one is Pokemon Tabletop United, which can be downloaded here. I don't know about other tabletop systems.

That should be enough to start a 3.5 campaign, if you want further books (like Book of Nine Swords or Pathfinder or whatever), you'll have to download them. I don't know about other tabletop systems. I didn't know this existed. It's mostly irrelevant as I have PDF's of everything, all of the completes ECT.

Here is a map of the DnD universe, if you're looking for inspiration or anything. Also, the DnD wiki is a pretty good place to find answers to your questions. I think what Requizen posted is more in-depth (I haven't actually looked at it so I wouldn't know) but hopefully what I post can help you out a little bit.

Guess it just sells better than Greyhawk.

D20SRD (the site I linked) should have everything in the PHB and most of the stuff in the DMG. It's got Psionics and Unearthed Arcana. Any other splatbooks you'll need to find elsewhere.
