1. Time-traveling blue box.

Mine's faster.

"I'm the Doctor. Come with me, there's no time to explain!"

You could probably legitimately go to a con and get like 30 numbers doing just that.

If you could pull off a British accent, that might not be an exaggeration.

Does not work when everyone has a British accent.

Also, there are lots of types of British accents too.

Well, a USA convention then. But if you're at a US convention then the type doesn't matter. Accents just win.

Dude, Ruby/Sapphire was objectively the worst era of Pokemon. They just keep getting better and better. Don't let the haters tell you lies.

Gen III was good because it was the start of the remakes (you cannot say that FRLG was bad) and expanded heavily on the post-game content with the Battle Frontier in Emerald. At the same time, the music was still up-beat like Sootopolis, Fortree, Sky Pillar and perhaps one of my favourite themes ever Mt Pyre. It was also the first time they really pulled off the "third edition which links together the other too" and made it feel really different. (Yellow and Crystal had minimal improvements over RB and GS).

XY look to have even more awesome things, and fully 3D Pokemon.

Gen V is amazing I have no idea what you're talking about. There are a massive number of quality of life improvements like auto-refreshing Repels. BW was great with the "Unova Dex is 100% new Pokemone only and we can pull it off great too" while BW2 had the mix of Unova and old Pokemon mixed in very well. XY seems like it'll continue this trend since the leaks show that even before the first gym there is a massive variety in Pokemon.

The one thing I don't get is why we can't have Pokemon follow you around like in HGSS. That was by far one of the best mechanics ever.

everyone has a story to tell. it's all about how you tell it rather than the story itself and that takes practice. same goes with talking about your interests. Even if they have 0 interest in your hobbies, if you're good at talking about it and expressing your passion/enthusiasm for it without being too "nerdy" or getting bogged down in the specifics you can get them interested in it as well.

Turns out drafts are really easy when you rip a Heliod and Whip of Erebos.

This set is a lot of fun though. I'm really psyched to see what kind of Standard deck I can throw together.

Doing an online fake sealed with my bros. Opened Xenagos, Stormbreath Dragon, Medomai, Ashiok lol. Why isn't this real lifeeeee.

I actually don't think Medomai is that good :[ Sounds hilarious for commander tho.

Oh don't get me wrong, I love Gen 5. Not too fond of the starters, but I had a blast playing them. I was just commenting that they put in more of a "story", but just not to expect it to be like a FF or anything.

Gen 5 had so many QoL things, but the one thing I miss is the Poketch from Gen 4. That was the best use of the second screen bar none imo.

I do mostly mean R/S/E as far as bad. FR/LG were probably great, but I never got them. R/S/E though... I dunno, the Pokemon seemed really boring to me and the graphical quality was right between charmingly retro and next-gen awesome (which finally hit on Gen IV) so much that I never really got into it. I also just didn't like Hoenn. I honestly couldn't tell you why.

The worst feeling is when a friend tells you a story and it's awesome, and then you try and tell that story to your other friends and it's really awkward.

The story of how I watched the Marvel movies was awesome. I told myself that I wouldn't watch the Avengers until I saw all the other movies. I won a trip to see some Japanese idols which meant a 12 hour plane flight to Tokyo. I did not expect it to, but it had all the Marvel movies on demand, so that entire flight was me catching up to watch the Avengers.

Then I saw the Avengers a few months later and it was just alright.

???

Mijumaru/Oshawott is like the best starter ever. And he's totally got the best personality too. Have you seen the guy? Totally cool.

Poketch was ok but Dowsing Machine way inferior to Gen V Itemfinder. It no longer feels like a hassle and finding hidden items is now fun!

You know that a Gen III remake is like one of the most demanded things ever right haha. I really disliked DPP and RSE felt so much more complete to me. HGSS is what made Gen IV work imo.

Gen III is also the Gen that introduced the most out of any of the others. It completely revamped the IV/EV system, introduced Abilities, Natures, you actually had a Father, new breeding mechanics, Ribbons, Pokemon Contests, expanded post-game content, Berry growing, Double Battles, getting a second starter Pokemon for free, Move Tutors and a legal Mew.

Like, that's totally awesome.

wtf

Also, Gen 3 was when Game Freak got the picture about making starters that don't suck.

Unfortunately, that hasn't stuck.
