You could try differentiating them by applying Cyan and Turqoise to the cables to give it a feel of glowing electricity rather than dull heavy industrial cables and apply a white highlight to show random discharges arcing across its length. Some samples include this, this and this. For the pauldrons, a gold edging would sharpen the detail and help take the emphasis off the base colour so it doesn't seem like it's related to the cables. You could also then apply gold inscriptions on the pauldrons to show ornamentation and emphasise how these are the elite units in your army. The main Necron symbol on the chest could also be given gold highlight. That would also give you scope to go for an Egyptian theme sort of thing if you want and you could flock the base with a desert style. Of course you could also use another highlight colour like white. You could also try for the marbled look that models like this. Alternatively you might not want the cables to seem "alive" with energy and want them to be like heavy industrial cabling so the emphasis is on the main body of the model instead. (Esp if you go for detailed shoulder work or something) In which case maybe you could try just leaving the cable black with minor lighting effects so it seems the gun (which has a black base) is an extension of the Necron itself and leaves the colour emphasis of the model on the Necron's body. If you prefer something slightly more lively, there's always the Black/Yellow High Voltage warning chevrons, or dull primary colours like a heavy matte Ocre Red like how real wires are colour-coded. I would also strongly suggest colouring the eyes into something that's really striking and glowy (I personally like the idea of that neon green look or maybe red eyes like mechs have) just so it doesn't seem like some mannequin going to war but something with a cruel and real intellect that's going to hunt you down. Good points all. The overall theme I wanted to go for was mostly in line with Necron Immortal lore: They contain more sentience than the Warriors (who are basically just mindless troops), but in essence they only have enough intelligence to carry out orders and fight. So I wanted to make them basically the Terminator, machine and weapon indistinguishable from one another save by color, the Immortal being adorned in Silver and Blue and the weapons uniformly Black and Gold. Perhaps the cables would be better off with the thick, "main" cable black, and the two ancillary cables in the lighter blue, similar to this, but with the green replaced with blue. I think highlighting the pauldrons would be nice. An edge highlighting in white would be nice, there's a bit on now to simulate paint wearing off, but a thicker line around the edge might make the pauldrons "pop" a bit more, especially since they're the only real "armor" they have. That marbling effect is really hard to pull off :\ As for the eyes, they're the same light blue as the minor cables and the Necron symbol, albeit hard to see with the lighting. I haven't quite mastered the technique to give them a glowing effect, you kind of dust color around and inside the eye socket, very tiny work. I think it's time to stop at the store and pick up some more paints. I've used most of my current range on this model alone (short of my Sybarite Green and Skink Blue), and if I want to do more serious layering I'll need at least some greys and teals. As a general note, I think I like the Blue+Silver+Black+Bronze/Gold color scheme. However, when it comes to the Warriors and Destroyers, I have no alternative to the green rods. Now, I've seen people paint over them like so, and I've seen (fairly expensive) eBay-able recolors like these. Do you think the green rods will clash with the color scheme too much or do you think it'll look ok? Also tomorrow I pick up my Monolith!

I think the overwhelming community backlash kills honest commentary from players. All of cloud 9(the LoL team) seem very sarcastic and very honest, but they don't show it to the public. Sometimes they will slip, but their public image seems very clean. On April 23 2014 14:50 Cixah wrote: Watching Mafia for the first time and I have no idea what the fuck is going on. Got the same problem here. Going to be 24 in a few months but still get carded for booze or clubs (18+). Hopefully that'll mean I'll be some highly prized 30yo.
