I've seen a bunch of people complaining about how Stannis is being portrayed, but I think it's really well done. He's a man who's blindly following this red god, and has very little control of what's going on. He thought he saw a glimmer of hope with the magic and Gendry, but Gendry has been released by his Hand. Of course he's getting pissed off and raging - the throne was taken over by usurpers that were a product of incest, he's stuck on Dragonstone broken after the battle at the blackwater.
Stannis has a great character in the story, but I do think it's being developed well in the show too.

+ Show Spoiler +Well, I think the thing that makes Jaime interesting to me is that he is, in a lot of ways, not likable at all. Even after his "transformation" or whatever, he's self-righteous and cruel. He keeps a lot of his negative aspects but has a more honorable view and starts to see people other than Cersei as, well, people instead of shit. I like him because he's complex. He has a lot of bad qualities (not bad as in makes him a bad character, but bad as in makes him a bad guy), but you still kind of want to cheer for him because he ends up being more honorable than a lot of the "good guys" in some ways. Or maybe it's just that he knows he's a scumbag and it hurts him.
Either way, I don't think the scene changed his character that much.

I like to think I contribute to the planning of game night  I think I'm ok for this Friday. Wife will be out for awhile but then my sisters-in-law may be coming that night to visit so I haven't gotten a good read as to whether me gaming all night is ok...
