Meanwhile from the very first game my opponents play 4-5 rares and 2 epics over the course of the games, even the ones ending on turn 7. What. My draft sucked anyway (note to self: don't pick Warrior spells, they're utter shit and hard to use most of the time; couldn't do anything about having 2 taskmasters and 2 amani and only drawing 1 taskmaster of the whole 5 games but both amani early everytime). Edit: and now I start a Paladin draft and first card is Malygos/Illidan/Ysera. The fuck you doing to me RNG. ._. I guess I'm not gonna hear "put your faith in the light" this run either tho, or I'm really lucky. And first game I force 2 deadly shots from the enemy hunter, thinking I'm safe for a turn 9 Ysera turn 10 Manip... NOPE he had a 3rd one. Screw him, I won anyway, but denying me the dream, what a prick. Typical hunter obv.

I probably wouldn't have been able to look at my playstation without getting incredibly mad if I lost that. I had just finished doing some of the easy/monotonous stuff that involves flying the airship around and picking things up(Jecht Spheres, items you couldn't get on first visits, shit like that), then played like 2 hours of blitzball to get some progress towards Wakka's stuff. I should've saved after that but my next trip was to Besaid to get the last primer I missed so I can get 99 Underdogs and start grinding AP. In fact, I'm perhaps even more salty knowing that the most efficient way to get started on the process(something you have to do to beat things like Dark Aeons), I can't do anymore, because there's no way to get that primer until I can beat him.

In lol terms I am around Silver maybe(?). I understand basic things like creating a mana curve, creature to spells and playing out games decently. I am looking for how to value different card and how to see when to push decks in certain directions.

That sounds like Constructed play, not Limited (i.e. Drafting). In Limited you don't have deck lists lol

I need to catch up not lead the pack + Show Spoiler + yet The 2 biggest sources of articles for magic strategy is starcitygames.com and channelfireball.com. They often post up draft videos that you can watch (like this one here: http://www.channelfireball.com/videos/channel-huey-btt-draft-2-with-special-guest-shahar-shenhar/). Sometimes there's an article on limited, but most are about constructed formats. Although I've hear good things about Limited Resources podcast, I've never listened to it. But the link is here: http://lrcast.com/episodes/. Marshall Sutcliffe also has a weekly column article on dailymtg.com about the limited format: http://www.wizards.com/Magic/magazine/archive.aspx?tag=limited information&description=limited information Lastly, you can watched the official coverage of GP Philadelphia, which was a big tournament focused on limited, and the casters are very well versed (Ben Stark is arguably the best limited player in the world). Here is the link to 11 hours of magic: http://www.twitch.tv/magic/b/519533744 (at 01:25:38, they actually show the drafting process and talk about decision making when picking cards).

Oppressive Rays isn't the absolute worst removal either, especially in the aggro matches/ramp matches.
