I haven't been downhill skiing that often but I cross country ski a lot. Never snowboarded. Maybe it's because my parents made me struggle through skiing when I was a kid but I always considered snowboards/waterboards/skateboards as all being in the same class of mysterious boarded objects I don't understand that people use to look cooler than people on skis. I never thought difficulty had anything to do with it.

Snowboarding is real casual and the difference between drunk snowboarding and normal snowboarding is next to non-existant, which proves the casualness.
While skiing is a manly battle of pure concentrated skill.
Cross-country skiing on the other hand is not even a battle. To extend my earlier metaphor, it'd be HoN. So, completely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things and only even mentioned because you have a piece of wood under your feet. E: Or two, to stay politically correct here.

It's pretty ironic hearing "it's not even a battle" coming from someone expounding the virtues of a sport where you get carriage treatment like a princess, because, oooOoooh, this mountain is just too big for my dainty little skis! If I tried to scale it my delicate frame would become muscular and no man would marry someone that looked so unrefined! It's a good thing tickets are expensive so we can keep out those nasty country-skiing lower class who could not benefit from an experience like this due to their naturally lower intelligence and cultural ignorance!
(PSA downhill skiing is indeed fun and can be a manly sport but saying there's no battle in cross country, hahahahahahaha =P)
