Didn't really plunge. Some whale accidentally sold a shit ton. Or did it on purpose to... uh... lose hundreds of thousands of dollars.

It crashed at the news of Mt.Gox (which apparently initially stood for Magic The Gathering Online eXchange, RIP Wizards of the Coast), a major bitcoin exchange, basically ran out of bitcoins because of double spending, and are now...temporarily shutting down (or permanently, we'll see). So you basically just had a bank run.

It crashed down to 650 from 800 mostly due to Mt. Gox's shenanigans but the 100$ was because of this:
"Someone sold 5000 coins @ $100 each. That means they were willing to accept anything as little as probably $1 per coin, and they basically ate up the entire order book. They sold their last coin when the price reached $102 for some very very very lucky people.
Someone just lost millions because they went full retard. Never- ever go full retard."

this definitely helped wake me up

How long do you wake up usually before having to hit the road? ôo
|
I live 5 min from work. I usually like to wake up an hour beforehand to give myself a little time to wake up and relax

Were you strung out on curling fever from last night?

What a fucking shit game by men's canada. Coughing up a 3 steal in the 5th then missing the shot in the 10th in order to force OT. Gross.
