It's why people hook up. If people are looking for casual sex and looking for others for casual sex, what's the problem? The approach is rather brusque if said friend is being direct about it (hence why he'd probably be labeled an asshole), but it shouldn't fundamentally be a problem. Though if the long distance relationship isn't open, then huge asshole territory there. What I'm trying to say in sleep deprived terms is that cruising doesn't necessarily entail a misogynistic attitude (though it can). Well, that and you can cruise for members of the same sex (ehm), but still. Hookup apps are there for a reason (though to my knowledge, there isn't a popular one for straight people so eh). | ||

However, one reasoning behind it is: Having sex with someone (and spending an evening leading up to that), can get you closer to that person than maybe a month of casual getting-to-know each other would. If you are a bit unsure of what it is you are looking for in a partner (be it man or woman), you can with clear intentions of learning the field fuck around and come out wiser of it. Without being an asshole. I agree that fucking around simply for fucking arounds sake is assholey, and having a partner/multiple is generally the better way to get sex. Edit: To make it clear, my friend and this attitude isn't about just walking up to a random chick and say "wanna fuck" and then move on if it's a no. It's about targetting a girl, introduce yourself, learn a bit about her, let her know a bit about you, make it clear that you are interested in her, at least on a friend basis, gauge her reaction, and if it's "okaish"* make it clear, that you wish to have sex. If the "answer" is no, then you can describe a bit about why are so forward and your philosofy, and learn to know the girl more on a friend basis. Congrats, you've just given a great compliment to a girl "IM INTERESTED IN YOU", you've learned to know them, and maybe gotten a great compliment in return "YOU ARE COOL LETS GO FOR A RIDE". *This sounds an awful lot like seduction, but it really isn't. Also, a part of this attitude is that it makes you feel good. If a girl is interested in you, you get a huge compliment. If a girl who's got a boyfriend is interested in you, you just got an even bigger compliment. If a girl refers to her boyfriend as a reason not to, you also got a compliment. You, as said, also give compliments. | ||
