Maru style in TvZ has been econ-focused, meaning he rather getting ahead on wokers count than army, and always try to target the opponent base/worker over out-trading them, unless he goes for an all-in style. But that hasnt worked against Serral and now Dark, because these guys will just mass Roach and kill him straight up. Not sure why Maru keep doing this style against them, knowing it probably wont work.

Assuming Serral beat Clem for 1st in Group B, he will be on the opposite side of Final Four as Dark, and Maru will have to play him if he gets there

Poor Byun/Oliveira. Maru's TvZ might be shaky, but his TvT has looked unstoppable. Must really make their loser bracket match feel doomed. I predict they both save energy. Lose? You go to the knockout bracket. Win? You get brutalised by Maru and then go to the knockout bracket.

One has to wonder, why did they separate the Group Stage into 2 groups?
1 group would've sufficed, and we won't have as many duplicate matchups

I reckon only Clem can stop Serral - Maru has no chance - not through a lack of skill but psychological - just look at his game5 vs Dark, he had it in the bag but did silly things

Agreed. Maru just seems slow vs Z these days. He looks incredible in TVT and TVP but I see Oliveira and Clem vs Serral and they just match up better.
It seems Maru can't play as fast and aggressive as Oliveira & Clem, which seems to work better vs Serral since they can put the pressure on him and not let him drone freely.

He can definitely beat Dark if he doesn't get nydus'd in the main. That was 2/3 of Dark's map wins.
Lurker nydus is a GG move if you let it get in there, and the queen nydus allin was just bad luck that the viking missed the overlord.
He's not beating Serral though

Its not about him being slow, but its more like how he got no clue when to change from the multi-drop style into the frontal style, keep trading and fighting. He was 3k ahead of Dark in unit lost, but then decide to lose 4-5 medivac with full army inside trying to snipe a couple of hatch when he has the econ/army and tech advantage is just plain stupid, no disrespect. The fact that Onsyde didnt have somebody coach him up, or make him practice for this, is also a negative look for them.
