I had a bad feeling for this group, herO is in great shape, Gumiho is always dangerous with prep and even if DRG is notoriously bad at ZvZ he's still a real champ. I knew that was going to be complicated since Rogue is rarely in top form in the first group phase. Sadly, I fanboyed the LB and predicted he'd still go through... should have followed my head.

This new greedy mass gateway protoss style pioneered by herO seems quite strong. Was there any reason that people couldn't have played this style on the last patch?
The last patch removed queen walks by removing the ability to transfuse off creep. I would not think that would affect a mass gateway style in any way, but I am only a metal league terran player.
Just my 2 cents, but I personally think that Zerg players got stuck playing against double Stargate opening for too long that they forgot how to completely shut down this style. This style of opening require a different plans of timing/opening from the Zerg side, they cant get to greedy nor push with the same timing against SG. As for why Protoss are not playing this style in the previous patch, its simply because double SG opening is easier to do, control and less risk involved if you get the timing right. Its also less relying on the micro-ability of the player as well. herO did say in the interview yesterday that his hand/wrist/arm was wearing down while doing it against 2 top Zerg in a row.

Nah, Maru would just shut it down and let Dark win his 4th, then we have a 3-way battle next GSL season along some of the foreigner for the ultimate tournament.

Except Dark "only" has 2x codeS
Yeah, Dark only has two Code S titles. Nestea got three.

You couldn't open triple Oracle into ground because it died to Queens walks. And I think the Oracles are essential to that style because 1. they allow you to play greedier in the early game and 2. they beam down the Lings when the Zerg tries to chase off Creep.

Damn, somehow I thought Dark got another one in 2020, lol.
