I only managed to watch the Rogue-Dark series but games 1, 4 and 5 are definitely worth a watch. 2 and 3 aren't as good but they won't take you very long tbh Game 5 and Game 6? Game 1 was a tie. Yeah, I went by map wins. So, games 1, 2, 5, 6 are worth watching (and the other two are short)

What a day of Starcraft, so intense! Marked contrast to the other Ro8, these all went to the last set, those were all sweeps.

Which isn't surprising, considering how the GSL bracket turned out somewhat like the Euro 2020 bracket...

I dunno man, Bunny’s never been this far before and DRG is pretty tasty in ZvT, sOs is no mug at PvP and it’s PvP after all, so I don’t think those being sweeps was a super obvious prediction.

If you have the time, the Parting-Zoun series is worth a watch for the story arc. The games are generally short. If not, at least watch the final game.

Turned out as expected but was closer than I was comfortable with.
Dark and Parting both had winning scenarios whereas Zoun and Rogue kind of didn't.
Dark and Rogue cheesing one another can go either way, but once the game goes longer, I knew Dark would take it, his macro is just looking a lot better than Rogue this season. It seemed kind of obvious, didn't it? Just look at game 4, where Rogue pretty much turtled up on 3 bases and let Dark run rampant. This is the anti strategy for beating any zerg, ever. It almost happened again in game 5. In fact, Rogue's playstyle this season is kind of majorly weird to me. In the round of 16 when he played Percival in the opening match, he threw so hard in the first game I was convinced he was just going to let Parting win. It wasn't until halfway through the 2nd game when he started fighting back that I caught myself thinking "Oh wait, Rogue is actually trying to win".
The only way Parting was going to lose was if his opening cheese is defeated and then he gets overwhelmed before he gets a chance to catch up. Zoun did well scouting Parting's cheese at every possible opportunity, so he almost made it happen. You'd definitely argue that Zoun second guessed himself in that last game by being too careful. Had he pounced on Parting like he did in game 4, he would've won, but he got scared about losing and decided to be safe instead. In chaotic moments, whether it be cheese or fighting an equal or even slightly larger army, Parting wins. His experience and killer instinct just trumps Zoun's at the moment, it's Zoun's only weakness.
Unfortunately Parting's experience and killer instinct won't help him against Dark. Dark is going to win.
