Feeling oddly positive about SpeCial in DH summer finals?

In the end it was a good group despite the sloppy start. Or ignoring the games involving scarlett to be accurate.

Today was what an off day looks like for TY. Nevertheless depending on who he draws in the ro8 I think he should bring a better performance in the next round. TY thrives in longer prep-based series.
For the winner of the group; I might be failing to reocgnize DRG's current impressive form, but I expect him to knocked out in the next round. He will probably be the weakest player in a longer series if you look at the final three groups lineup. All of the players liable to make it out are Code S champions or S tiers players as is. His performance today thrives in part on some of the weaknesses of his opponents as much as it does stellar form on his own part. Even if this seems too pessismistic considering his play today, making it to the quarterfinals of code s is always an indicator of a certain level of play.

Special is the king of looking great and then making dumb mistakes. It’s really frustrating to watch when he’s your favorite player haha.
The games vs DRG and Scarlett looked pretty bad. Then he looked overall very good against TY, but it’s TY.
I’d be excited for him in the season finals since his TvT was looking good and half the players are T, but unfortunately the Terran in his group is Maru lol

Ultimately I think DRG is the only one who really managed to show his best today. The others only managed to show glimpses of that, especially Scarlett. And the TvT was fun, would have liked more of that.

Loved the games from DRG! Especially when he said he is a bit greedy and wants to go to RO4 now... I do hope that he makes it into the finals, although Group B is pretty insane
Sad about Scarlett and Special though at the same time, the games were all pretty good so can't complain about that!

Sometimes I do wonder why though... Hasn't Scarlett and Special been in Korean for a few years now? I believe SC to be a skills-based game (or games), you'd have thought that they would have better showing than that? (or over the years in GSL?)
That being said though, DRG and TY today are more than worthy advancers
(Actually that all being said, you'd wonder how well would someone like Serral do in GSL, don't you? Would love for that to happen )

You misunderstand me, it was sarcasm; Fuell here just spat out a senseless clichè. Scarlett and Special went to the ro16 of Code S, that alone is appreciable and shouldn't be regarded as "sucking"; you also have to take into consideration they are far from being the best foreigners.
As for Serral, how would someone with 70% + wr in maps and 82% wr in series against koreans since 2018 perform in Code S in your opinion?

What an Absolute Chad. DRG gonna make top 4 for sure

Scanning through DRG vs TY. Did I just watch TY fly an orbital and handful of scvs halfway across the map? I’m sure that’s happened before but I haven’t seen it (at least when it’s your third)

Well, that's hard to judge. I think a GSL is - purely from the format - a dfferent story than most other tournaments. Today, Scarlett didn't play very well unfortunately. DRG on the other side was impressively strong. I wonder how far he can get this tournament.

Can you do that in alligulac?
Would be a cool feature. Create a virtual tournament. You could take the runner up from last GSL, find out all the opponents he played, match serral against all the same opponents, and then see the overall chance of him getting through to the final, and of course winning that final match :D.
Would be interesting.

Rogue has 3 world chmapionship titles with much worse stats while Serral has epic 1. Maybe the map stats and match stats are useless in the terms of judging a player. And it's not like Serral didn't participate in them tournaments. Actually Rogue won both Katowice titles while Serral was there The 2nd IEM WC title with SErral having them statsorz!!!

First, I'll step down to answer you that none of the perceived GOATs have won a single World Championship. Of course map and match stats are useful to understand the caliber of a player(it's not like Serral has been a choker and he hasn't won titles, either).
On topic, what was this pointless bait? The point is that foreigners definitely do not suck in 2020 and that Serral would have performed in Code S like the star player he is, without any doubt.

Even before TY's 5-2 map record today, he has the highest Code S winrate among active players:

MVP still the goat Ty looked mortal this series, but I expect him to do better next round. Impressive showing from drg.
