Praise be owed to the new maps being played across Dreamhack. This is far and away the best TvT meta specifically I have ever witnessed. Cure made Bio - Raven TvT beautiful.
He also got a 4-3 against INno to reach the GSL finals. Didn't stop him from getting dumped on 4-0 in the TvT finals. I see him as a kind of minor upgrade from someone like Curious - the eternal gatekeeper separating the low tier of tip-top players from the rest of the world. I don't think anyone is "sleeping" on him like he's secretly the best player in the world that's going to win the global finals, despite his more recent deeper runs. That's completely wrong. Cure has been B tier for years but now he's a top player and he's adding offline results to his online dominance started last year; you should rate him as high as Inno or Trap. The question is if he can stop Serral and Reynor after Maru, Inno and TY failed to do so.
How good is his TvZ tho? We know his TvT is top notch. But the only high stakes games vs Z I can find are his 2-0s over Impact in the Ro24 of GSL season 1. And Impact is no Serral.

Cure's shown good TvT, but Serral's not Terran. How's his TvZ? EDIT: Writing this out, turns out Serral is pretty close to being Terran though. The 'S' is one letter off, and the 'L' two. Amusing.
TvZ... I mean he's teammates with Dark so it can't be THAT bad lol. But I think Innovation probably has better TvZ

EU Zergs are back!
They are probably even with top KR. I think it's rather pointless debating who's better or 'on form' now. KR dominated in TSL (Serral and Reynor slipping), and months earlier in Katowice. The pendulum is constantly shifting. It's harder to assess their true performance considering factors such as EU-friendly scheduling and KR priority of GSL over online events. If this was post-TSL, KR fanboys be gloating and EU fanboys be saying 'Serral was eliminated due to ZvZ, Reynor made uncharacteristic errors against Inno'. And now, the reverse will happen and KR fanboys saying 'Ping, scheduling, blah blah'.
Unless one side is truly dominating over a long period time in competitions where both sides are on equal footing, we can argue endlessly which side has the 'slight' edge over the other. But please don't stop arguing, this is what TL is for!

My gut feeling is that they're not teammates in which they live together and practice together like the KeSPA days. Instead, they are sponsored by the same team and represent the team online and in CTL. Cus I'm sure they all practice with other top players outside of their team too.

Or they know Heromarine personally/better and are thus biased toward him? Or more familiarity with his playstyle? Remember that the only casters who cast Korean SC2 more regularly than foreign SC2 are Tasteless and Artosis and they aren't casting this. Bias toward one player or another doesn't mean they're being paid for having that bias...

I'm not entirely sure that's true. If you watch group B of GSL the first thing PartinG did after beating Inno was go over and crack a joke with Dark. They don't live together but there's definitely some level of camaraderie.

That s also giving some insight, that they are more than just mercenaries.

A whole bunch of other potential explanations than inferring casters take extra cash like.
I didn’t get to catch a huge amount of Creighton, considering he spent so much time in Korea maybe he’s less like that. Doesn’t help either that Tastosis haven’t really ventured out of Korea much.
I’m curious as to how Korean casts go too.
I don’t even think it’s a foreigner thing so much as a collective hardon for Big Gabe really. Seems to me that way, I find it a bit irksome but it’s not merely when he’s playing a Korean but playing most other foreigners and he gets a lot of the hype too.
Maybe people just like the chance to go ‘Big Gabe’ idk?

the phrase Italian stallion, which has been thrown around a lot, irks me a little bit because as far as I know it stems from Sylvester Stallone's softporn gig "The Party at the Kitty's and Stud's" from the 1970s although I guess people are thinking more of Rocky.

Why are Korean Terrans losing to foreign Zergs??

The experts said it is because of ping, jetlag and that they don't care about this tournament.

F'ing Maru, always dodging serral.

I think that nick is horrible to be honest. Not just for the sexual connotations, I think it just sounds so bad.
They should call Reynor The Right Hand of the Devil like Trinity, the fastest in the west.

You watch almost any kr vs foreign match and the caster bias is painfully clear. It used to only be unbearable when Serral played but maybe that was just because back then he was the only one who was winning.
It goes beyond the games themselves as well, when a foreigner wins a big match or event it will be brought up at every opportunity even if they consistently lose elsewhere. When a korean player wins something it's just ok lets move on to the and not mention it again.
You can't use the underdog argument either because the top foreigners really shouldn't be considered them anymore, and any underdog koreans may as well be invisible with how much attention they get

So who's more likely to drop the ball - Serral or Reynor?
Head says Cure, the clown fiesta in me says Trap edges out Reynor only to get 4-0ed by Serral in the most anti-climatic finals since Maru v Zest / Nestea v Inca...

It seems you forgot about Zest vs Rogue from this year already. Which I think is even more anti-climactic given the fans were two maps away from their all time dream matchup.

Seems like TL should have a feature of Zest's top 10 clown fiesta games. A lot of epic stuff from TSL recently.
