Because we all want a Power Rank from our beloved TL writers realy, REALY bad, I thought we could just bait them in finally doing one again. So here I am, posting my very own, absolutly correct and unbiased Power Rank. Feel free to agree with me or shut up and create your own, superior one, until we finally get the official one
1. Cure: has improved a lot over this year, 2nd in last Code S, realy strong online player, isn t bothered by ping (see Katowice qualifier, where he brought Serral to Game 5 on EU Server)
2. INnoVation: stronger and more confident than in years
3. Reynor: A lot of Momentum after DH EU win
4. Maru: is probably less focused on Online tournament and not used to play with Ping, otherwise probably higher up in this list
5. Serral: will try to redeem himselve, overall weak performance for his standarts at DH EU with losses to Reynor and Lambo and narrow 3-2 wins in all the Upper breaket Play-off Matches
6. TY: defending Code S Champion, but is known for Lackluster Online performances
7. Parting: Dark Horse Protoss, can beat anyone on a good day
8. Trap: Solid vs T and P, his PvZ might still hurt him, if running into Serral or Reynor
9. Clem: Mechanically up there with the top dogs, still has a mental roadblock when facing top Koreans, not expecting to much here
10. Special: Might be able to impose a thread to foreigner Terrans, will realisticaly struggle against everyone above him, might be able to beat Clem in a direkt Match but lesser chances vs the other Players
11. HeroMarine: will beat the guys, he s supposed to beat, but that s not enough here
12. Neeb: improved compared to 1st half of 2020 in DH NA, but will most likely not be enough to make a major impact, jet
13. Time: dominated his region, was solid in GTC, but has to face a way harder competition here
14. Astrea: Had breakthru performances in Qualifying for Code S and reaching the final in DH NA, it will probably still not be enough, to make a notable impression here
15. Has: is here, because he beat Nice, with realy unorthodox strategies he might take 1 series
16. Risky: is here, because he beat Probe, would be surprised, if he takes a Map

Seems solid.
It all depends who is really motivated. Here I see a big plus for all foreigners, cause this is THE event for them. All Koreans have Code S groups and stuff.
Since this is kinda GSLvWorld online edition, my money is on Serral to win it all

I'm wondering if Afreeca will reschedule GSL Group B, because it's right in the middle of the season finals. Parting and Inno would both be in a pretty awkward spot.

Yeah that is going to mess up a bit the prep and the willing buuuut the price pool is quite huge. So it will be rather stupid not to play your very best to win 12k euros.

I will never understand the hype around innovation. He has been mediocre for years.

Half the field is terran, Clem is not going to be 3rd.

ESL Pro Tour/2020/21/Masters/Summer ESL seeded the finalists of DH EU before the Semifinalists of Code S and both NA finalists before LA and CH winners: Seed 1-4 TY, Cure, Reynor, Serral Seed 5-8 Inno, Parting, Trap, Maru Seed 9-12 Clem, Gabe, Neeb, Astrea Seed 13-16 Special, Time, Has, Risky
|
With those groups I'm going Serral Neeb, Ty Parting, Maru Reynor, Cure Clem

this is impossible (at least for me) to rate since some players have more or less disappeared while others have played tons of games with sometimes such varying forms they're even harder to gauge.
but I'd say (no real order in the tiers) : tier 1 : Maru / Reynor / Serral / INno / TY / Cure tier 2 : PartinG / Trap / Neeb / SpeCial / Clem tier 3 : Astrea / Heromarine tier 4 : Has / Time / Risky

Inno hasn't reached a premier tournament finals since WESG 2018 so I sadly think he doesn't belong to tier 1 anymore.

He was in the final of TSL 5 just a few weeks ago

Fact is though, Inno was top 4 in GSL. He's been doing well on- and offline this year, already much better than in all of 2019 safe for that WESG. And I think his results justify putting him in tier 1, I don't think he should be in a separate tier from Maru, Cure and TY.

Maybe TY because he won GSL. The other players seem to be a level below them.

1. Reynor - He’s playing very confidently and all of his recent series have been really clean. He says he’s really confident in TvZ and I believe him. 2. Innovation - If I believe Reynor when he says he’s the best he’s ever been and that he’s very confident in his TvZ, then I have to rate Innovation’s recent wins against Reynor very highly. He 2-0’d Reynor in the Douyu Cup and 3-2’d Reynor in TSL. 3. Serral 4. Maru 5. TY - I rate him highly because he seems to study players well and I am confident in his ability to tailor his playstyle to take down almost any player if he has the time to prepare. 6. Clem 7. Parting 8. Cure - he seems to play well when the game goes as expected and no one is preparing specifically for him but I don’t have confidence in his preparation 9. Trap 10. Neeb
11. Special 12. Heromarine 13. Astrea 14. TIME 15. Risky 16. Has

Who the best players are is quite uncertain at the moment due to the mixed results in TSL5, GSL, and DH Masters. I'd break it into the following tiers:
1. Maru 2. Serral 3. INnoVation 4. TY 5. Reynor
6. Cure 7. Trap 8. PartinG
9. Clem 10. SpeCial 11. Neeb 12. HeRoMaRinE
13. Astrea 14. TIME
15. Has 16. RiSky
