Then this morning i watched the VOD, and pretty much my worst case scenario played out. Dark cleared out the bottom half easily, Reynor sniped Serral, then fell apart in the finals. Congratz to Dark, very dominating performance, just not really the fun ride i was hoping for

Even if he was behind in upgrades, he still had an extremely good chance of overwhelming Reynor with his Viper and Infestor combo. He died with some 2.5k in the bank, too. Why does he always play so awful vs Reynor? He looked so much better vs SoO. He looked pretty bad vs soO, soO just played worse than him.

Congratz to the champ, and to all those zerg whiner, lets wait and see how well Dark does in the next moth before bringing out the P word Also: And final also: Would be nice to have a more experienced observer next time, it wasn't great (it wasn't terrible either but it's Blizzcon) either Mapu or Shine would have been nice. No hate on whoever did it, (aparently it was someone named awesomeSauce?) but it would be nice to give him more event to work in if they have him next time.

Why does he always play so awful vs Reynor? He looked so much better vs SoO. Yeah, this was so confusing - he didn't seem like Serral at all in game 5. It was one of the biggest throws I've ever seen. The decision to go ultras was bizarre. He had Reynor backed into a corner, losing drones left and right. He had 6 or 7 bases to Reynor's 4. Reynor had zero presence on Serral's side of the map for 10 minutes. He had all the time in the world to go into lurkers or anything else for that matter, and he chooses... ultras. Maybe it was something to do with melee upgrades, but Dark showed on the same map shortly afterwards that you can do a lurker transition in that position, no problem. Any choice but ultras and Serral would have made it to the final and we would likely have had a much better contest on our hands.

Not to mention he just showed how to crush this muta-bane into ultralisk style in game 4. If i didnt know any better, i d say he was trying to style-on Reynor, like ”yeah, u cant win with that strat, but I can”- but that would be so out of character for Serral, i dont believe that's what happened

Unfortunately I fell asleep at around ~2.00 AM so I didn't catch anything that happened after that time. I'd be happy if we have another year of SC II. Did they talk about inControl at some point?

AweesomeSauce is a up and coming observer on the scene: he did every match this year in the last two seasons of EU/NA Challenger. He was probably a sensible hire being based in the SoCal area already instead of flying someone in from Europe.

Dark vs Serral would be much better finals. Disappointing. Happy for Reynor but again - hoped for more.
