But lets me honest, this is an inhuman amount of play crammed into a tiny amount of time. These guys have to be prepared to play like 17 hour each games (random number guess) to win an event like this. The players deserve to play less games in a day. 1 bo5 a day is already potentially as long as a game of tournament chess (in many events, you get 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 second increment per move and a bonus of 30 minutes added after 40 minutes and in non-professional chess we play 2 of these a day). This is too much for how high a level these guys are playing. (edit: added below) The old korean team sweatshops had forced practice that was about the same amount of time one of these tournaments can take (per day). That is sooooo much. | ||

This is too much for how high a level these guys are playing. There are pretty much always long breaks between the games, group stage aside. I highly doubt the pros have problems playing so much. Especially considering how much they play during practise (at least the truely active ones). In a way, it's also a nice punishment (if weak if you ask me) to players that go to the lower bracket early. | ||

Not even close. Different universes. 20 hours of tournament is not comparable to 20 hours online training. Humans don't work that way. | ||
