To get the exact spot correct.
Experience, starsense, and a healthy dose of good old fashioned luck.

When you watch special's games vs someone like scrarlett, you can tell that he is not comfortable maneuvering his armies in TvZ. And it's painfully obvious in this series where he's up against the best zerg on the planet
Maybe that's why he has never won a single premier. You can't go into a tournament and pray for only one matchup

It's true, he didn't beat Classic, he eliminated him from BlizzCon 2018.

Hopefully Special uses this beating as motivation to finally improve his TvZ. His vs P and v T is elite

Skimping on your vZ is truly the worst idea a WCS player could ever have. It's like playing GSL when all you're good at is beating Zerg.

That's what I think too.
Like imagine for this year's code s S2, he had to face TY twice instead of SOS twice....cant see him advancing.
he got SOS twice and got the advance though
On the other hand, when he runs into a beast protoss like stats or a neeb who is firing on all cylinders, he usually loses too lol

Special could beat TY in TvT, actually.

TvZ is certainly the matchup that looks the most unfair when there's a large skill gap.

Man at least the mech games were something. I guess TY was right, weak micro players should stick to mech

whines actually did work this time

TY is probably the most feared TvT player in the world lol
