Is neeb's win in the finals of some premier tournament like 2.5 years ago the only time they've met late in a premier tournament?

I feel like there was one other, which serral barely won the match..

Katowice last year Serral won 2-1 in an extremely close series, which some (including me) say Neeb would have won if not for the technical issues.

Then there's WeSG last year where Serral 3-0'd Neeb. And WeSG this year Neeb 2-0'd Serral as well.

Serral is really good against standard Korean Terran meta. If major wants to win, he needs to be top level Korean multitasking or be taeja level awareness and control with the army movement to beat the amazing engagements from serral.

So much salt towards Special damn. I wonder if the same salt would be directed to Neeb if he cheesed.

Took a look at premier tournaments since special made it to the finals. Quite a lot of terran there. Foreign terrans? Not so much. Speical is the first terran to make it to the finals of a premier tournament since uthermal and marinelord (both in 2016) and before that it was thorzain in 2012 lol.

Serral and Neeb literally just met this year in WESG. Neeb swept Serral

Serral beat Neeb 3-0 in the ro8 at WESG 2017 right before facing Maru; weird, isn't it?

Not a big fan of SpeCial's TvZ over the past few years. Hope he can surprise in the finals, otherwise things are going to get real bad for him.

We should be happy there is life in this LR thread, even if it's gone a bit off.

I hope Joona sweeps the rest of the tournament.

Happy for special. With that said, I have to say that the winrate of 2rax/3rax in tournaments has to be absolutely insane. I never see this strategy lose.

Well Premier is a rather arbitrary distinction Liquipedia makes. Liquid Bunny won a tournament with Premier competition and prize pool that doesn't count as Premier on Liquipedia, mostly because it was the first big event Gfinity ever did.

Groupstages definitely isn't "late" in a tournament, even ro8 barely qualifies for that.

It's a shame the finals will probably he very one-sided regardless of which Z makes it. Only reason I wanted Neeb was to win was because he would be a serious boss for both Reynor and Serral.

It doesn't say much because last game januari 2018 but still:
Serral is 4–6 (40.00%) in games and 1–3 (25.00%) in matches against SpeCial
I Protoss winner, could it be?

True. While not bad, Special's TvZ is nowhere near as good as his TvP since he despises protoss and puts so much effort into coming up with ways to beat protoss players lol.

To be frank I don't think Serral showed anything against TIME that SpeCial couldn't handle. And though I didn't see Heromarine vs Reynor, I feel that's a level SpeCial could reach pretty comfortably on a good day with momentum.

At the very least if things go well we'll see a few nice games.
