Dark is obvious, herO is just more accomplished than Scarlett, HerO has longevity over Fruitdealer, also is my favourite player historically but also did really innovate with his warp prism use so I’ll give it to him.

I mean Scarlett has a couple of amazing results, herO was in about 15 premier and major lan finals with 8 championship, and was in an IEM world championship finals. Sure they are both inconsistent, but herO seemed much better to me, he was one of the best player in the world at one point, I don't think Scarlett ever really was. herO also has a 102-64 results overall in proleague, with a 61% winrate, that's very good considering he had very hard match up as the CJ ace. Edit: In fact I'm pretty sure that he's the player with the most overall win in proleague (in SC2), but I counted the hybrid season, in the official stats he's second and he rank 7th in term of win rate, in the top 10 players with the most wins. And by the way sOs is both the player with the most proleague win and the player with the highest win rate, making him pretty much the greatest proleague player ever. (dunno if the stats include the playoff)

For all of Scarlett's flaws and inconsistent play and lack of results, her victories have been just that much greater. Also, she is the only girl at a high level of SC2, which is damn impressive.

Or maybe my inner fangirl overtook the control

Scarlett I 100% agree. I can name about 15 players who have accomplished more than herO in SC2. I can't name a single girl who even comes close to doing what Scarlett has done. And even ignoring gender, she is one of 2 notable players in North America, and was one of a very small group putting up even remotely decent results during the post-Stephano dark ages for foreigner SC2, and one of the harbingers of the foreigner revival.

You want to vote for Scarlett just because she's a girl? I thought we're comparing who's the bigger achiever in the SC2 not who's the bigger girl achiever in SC2 where herO is in a clear disadvantage...

Scarlett has been more important for SC2, herO has been a better player. Edit: I've been corrected that this IS indeed kind of a popularity contest, so I vote Scarlett, I think she has been way more important than herO for SC2. Soo's vote is a must in this one.

because there are no other women as top players, it is a unique characteristic which is worth mentioning, but not important. when serral won against everybody last year, it almost was mentioned everywhere that he is from finnland, because how many amazing top players are from finnland right now? it does not matter where he come from, but it is worth mentioning, because not many finns playing in top tier level of starcraft.

I just realised Nakajin is even updating the front page O.o You are da man! <3

There is something to be said about Scarlett brigning more eye to Starcraft than anyone else, she's the only SC2 player that had major mainstream coverage and did benefit the (relative) growth of the women scene in SC2. She is probably the greatest female esport player, with maybe Ricky Ortiz in the FGC, that has to count for something. Personally I'm keen to put herO well ahead of her on the pure basis of results, just like I wasn't ready to put Boxer in front of Hydra, but it depend how you see greatness. Plus it's also the fact that Scarlett herself did pretty much nothing to grow that fanbase, had she done behind the scene stuff I would maybe reconsider.

I mean it's whoever on TL voting for who they think are the greatest player ever. I think the title is pretty representative of that, it's also the very definition of a popularity contest. I mean the Oscar are a popularity contest (between a limited number of people) for what is the greatest film in the last year, but they don't call it :"the academy most popular film" they call it: The academy best film choice"
