I second that would make easier for people to not forget Maru won a GSL (ok, an OSL, but we all know that was the same except the stupid bo1 ro32) He actually won 2 GSL because 2015 SSL was the same thing as GSL too, except for the format, but that doesn't matter.

I second that Third (and I will note that I have used "Starleague" as such before, as Olli will remember from my heated argument with him). Yeah I've always done that too. Tournaments don't magically become more prestigious because they have "GSL" in their name.

That's a stupid argument. One is a denial of proven facts, the other is you pushing your criteria down others' throats. Please, tell me how a 32-player tournament played over the course of multiple months is functionally or in any other way identical to a 16-player (or less!) weekender. Proven facts.
It was a GSL tournament, there are arguments to be made for calling it a GSL. You don't decide what a GSL is. The GSL does, and they counted Mvp's GC as one - thus the G5L trophy. I don't personally care either way, but I'm staying consistent with the way the community has always counted.
"Proven facts".

We all know that the only true determining factor of whether a tournament counts as a GSL or not is whether the player gets a pin for it.

It had a three-letter acronym tacked onto the name, and nothing else. Neither of us decide what are the facts. Facts are facts by virtue of being true. That is why they are the facts. And 32 is not equal to 16, any more than three months equals three days. Those are the facts.

Zest may have won 3 GSLs but only 2 starleagues and that's all that matters. He won 2 Starleagues and 2 Korean weekenders.

I think if it was Elazer vs Zest, Elazer would win and if it was uThermal vs ByuN, uThermal would have a shot, but as it is we will get a Zest vs ByuN final.
