Dammit, just got home...

Really (pleasently) surprised by the Showtime vs Byun result.

Were the games any good, worth watching despite already knowing the results?

Lol I just predicted Thorins tweets.

(which btw were sarcastic).

The whole "only under specific conditions does results/data" matter is so ridiculously retarded and just a clear indicaiton of bias.

Lol. Pity he's being logical though

Yes Showtime outplaying the GSL winner in two macro games is irrelevant and doesn't matter because foreigners always used to outplay one of the very best koreans in macro games.

So let's continue to narrow down the very specific conditions under which we can "finally" proove that the skillcap has narrowed a lot.

LOL. Did you understand the basic meaning behind what Thorn said? Here , let me hold your hand for you: He isn't saying the results aren't relevant. He is saying rather that this result is overhyped as this has happened several times before, and thus that this doesn't prove anything in particular.

Or perhaps keep riding the hype train and remain blissfully oblivious.

it never happened when korean had time to prepare before, some upsets in bo's in long run tournaments. But never before in groups, gsl style

Yes it has, MC had a week to prepare for thorzain and still lost. Naniwa beat Mvp and NesTea in back to back Bo3s, I'm sure I'm forgetting others.

he just follows stuchios tweets.

And no he has no passion for Sc2. Doesn't like the game.

he is on the other hand the stereotype for the "tryhard elitistl" person who thinks he is cool because he likes BW more than Sc2.

I agree with your general comment that he doesn't follow sc2 really and is trying to make foreigners worse than they are, but cmon you actually can think BW is the better game without being a hipster, let's not make ridiculous claims

Sure you can, and there are definitely some way BW is a better game. But Thorin just has never explained what specifically he likes more about BW other than "Sc2 was shit when it was released in 2010". And I am pretty sure he doesn't watch BW regularly. All he has said was that "He still watches it to this day". sure but that can be one game a month.

And if you really think BW is a fantastic game, then you also think that Sc2 is at least a decent game, because the differences aren't that huge. Like there is no way BW is a 10/10 game and SC2 a 2/10 game.

eventually.. you become the #1 expert.

If you consistently make outrageous predictions and only mention them the few times you actually are correct, you will eventually deceive someone (perhaps yourself) that you are a mastermind.

that why i like to pay attention to outcomes.

Well, if you can make a detailed analysis explaining the weakness's and strenghts of certain players, then I am OK with a "surprise" prediction.

However, when most of the raw data just indicates that Nerchio and Neeb were the two best foreigners, it's most likely just a bad prediction turned "lucky".

true, the less analysis behind the prediction the more times i need to see that person make a correct prediction and the higher their correct prediction ratio must be.

I somehow hope TY destroys Elazer, otherwise this all feels so unreal. I need a Korean stomping a foreigner right now.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.
