It might sounds weird but Pet should qualify for the RO8, he's a practice monster and has really good results in custom games against top player such as Solar or Neeb.

He has to convert his skills from practice to the actual tournament, that's the hardest part for many players. Just ask Hush. And even in the online cups he plays, Pet doesn't do that well. So he has work to do.

This group is interesting. None of the players have really been on fire lately. I mean, TY has been solid, and he was arguably the best Terran in early 2016, but now, they're all kind of just ok (with regards to other Koreans). Now that TRUE isn't playing foreigners, he and Pet are the underdogs here. And herO, he hasn't had a stellar year either...

herO had an amazing Proleague record!
No, he did not. Maru had an amazing Proleague record!

Have you ever heard of oGs luvsic? Also known as J.

just poor execution. If he executed a bit better he would have won just there, but if he just scouted and reacted earlier and didn't do critical damage he still would have been in a better position, assuming he did an average amount of damage

Honestly herO isn't playing that well either atm
herO was one of the worst protoss players that I played on ladder when considering Kespa players
honestly, I came back into sc2 after not playing for 4~5 years, and I saw all the hype about hero, then saw him play and I didn't have any preconceived bias coming back into it - didn't know how he got results as good as the ones I've generally seen from him recently, and wasn't that impressed.
I know it'll make me seem tryhard to say this, like I know it all, but just my honest perception.
Are you and MarineLord housed together? Have much contact with Neeb?

HotS was more execution based, and herO had some of the best protoss mechanics and control. That won him a lot. He was never, in my opinion, a very smart player.

herO was at least top3 protoss (sometimes clear top1) in HotS, in LotV he is just another protoss

He was! Had 4 bases similar army size and the tech from Pet was lacking as he was to busy walking around map doing nothing. However then he just walks by herO's army and herO shows us the worst control ever and loses haha.
Well tbh heros micro was pretty terrible. Loosing dts for nothing too, no archons against mass bane, idk. Like some stuff from hero was really good some was utterly shit. Pet played well though!
I really love Pet's style ... not the standard boring game, lots of static defense, throwing out unnecessary amounts of units. but at the end, prevailing with technology :-) Good job Pet!!! :-)

French stream did. Apparently Neeb went 1-7 vs Neeb in Practice oO
uhh, who was 1 and who was 7?
please smartass that will inevitably reply, I'm not ready for the "neeb won one and lost seven, and neeb won seven and lost won" joke.
Sorry for that guys. So apparently the score was Pet 7 - 1 Neeb, at least thats what I heard. Also Pet beat dark 2:0 in the kespa cup qualifiers 1 week ago (which was considered by many a random upset). Seems the is at least decent :D

Against TRUE he went for a really greedy mech build and because he killed all the overlords near his bases TRUE didn't see it was mech until he was at 150 supply of lings and speedbanes. Eventually he starved him out.
Against Pet he held a roach all-in and killed him with the counter attack.

Oh trust me you don't want to go down that path if you don't want to be disappointed. I started being his fan like 10 times, only to be disappointed by 30 Banelings suiciding into Immortals/Marauders/Thors or some other sloppy mistakes. TRUE is the definition of sloppy Zerg lol.

...idk exactly... iAsonu had to play in WESG and, from what I understood from the chinese stream, aLive was available on the spot so they went with him (idk if they at least try with jjakji but I don't think so)!

Not even half the pages of group A haha. Goes to show how big of a deal Neeb's performance was.
Anyway, really surprising results for me here. Glad to see Pet through! I feel like he's been fighting for a break out for a while now and I hope he can take advantage of that

Hmm TRUE. Still, Pet didn't look very strong in the other matchups (winning against herO was impressive, but overall herO looked unimpressive). He looked downright pitiful against TY, and I feel like he was going for fairly aggressive builds against TRUE.
