Ro8 (quarterfinals): BO3

About the map

Map Size is 148x140, and has 12 bases available. Games will look very different depending on where players choose to expand. Shape your strategies with the rock towers, rocks, and various paths in mind.

There are backdoor rocks into your main, but you can break this destructible tower to strengthen the defense. The pathway from your main also opens up alternate reinforcement routes aside from your normal ramp.

A watery path in the middle of the map serves as the primary attack route. Two watch towers oversee the midfield from the high ground. Attack through the middle, or choose from many alternate routes.

The third base expansions have different sets of rocks and rock towers. Choose bases wisely depending on your race and/or strategy!

The idyllic Huangshan Mountains may look peaceful. But its limited base count, circle layout and multiple attack paths will force players to fight!

Pretty sick way to test out a map. I also love maps that promote different expansion patterns dependent on match-up / strategy

The lack of thousands of tourists milling about really fails to capture the spirit of huangshan imo. Also "shan" already means mountain, so calling the map "Yellow Mountain Mountain" is a tad redundant. Kidding aside, this is a great way to test maps, and I hope we'll see more of this sort of initiatives in the future.

Although I have never been to the real Huangshan before
Or most of the famous mountains (except Songshan)
Should really travel more when I have time

Besides naming it after a chinese mountain, the map itself also has some oriental feel to it.

The map went through a couple of hotfixes:
+ Show Spoiler +

- reaper jump fixes, it's not possible to jump up the fire pillars anymore, as well as some other glitched areas
- medivac drop area fixes, it's not possible to drop on pillars and stuff outside of the main playing field, as well
- the reaper jump into the main size has decreased slightly and one can't pass-through the pillars there anymore
- a lot of fixes to terrain edges, including small changes to the main
- main mineral line layout changed a little due to some weird issue with the previous layout
- top/bottom base mineral lines fixed
