He lost a single bo5 in Korea and everyone goes nuts. He qualified for SSL and GSL when soO and Zest couldn't lol. There is absolutely no way to generalize this result to his future performance in Korea. And to everyone saying he sucked in Korea before has selective memory and forget his deep GSL runs

There's a line though between Taeja bashing or claiming he isn't a very good player and "welcome back to Korea" which just states that the competition there is much tougher than what Taeja has been playing/winning.

Notice how Taeja never won WCS America. He always has the potential for deep runs in even the most stacked of tournaments. He had a bad series, but he's still a top 5 terran imo

Top2 without much question

Yeah but you probably put Flash as the other one

Nope, it's Bogus

Because it was one single series and he didn't play his best.

Yeah sure it is only one series, but "he didn't play his best" is irrelevant.
He didn't win in a tournament with preparation, as usual.
Simple as that

"He didn't play his best" is completely relevant because it has nothing to do with preparation.

No, "he didn't play his best" is a cop out. It simply doesn't matter if you think he only lost "cause he didn't play at 100%", truth is he lost.

And your hero turned down JAGW's offer for more money and so he didn't have to play in Korea so I'm not sure why we're having this discussion

This has nothing to do with Jaedong at all, pls stay on topic, yes?

How can you say that "he didn't play his best is irrelevant"??? It's completely relevant. It's entirely correct, too. Taeja played rather poorly, but that does not mean he is incapable of beating players in a Korean tournament. You have so little actual data to back up the argument "as usual" too. There's a reason why Team Liquid picked Taeja up. It wasn't because he was dominating the foreign scene.

But this discussion over upsets and players not playing well and whatever is horrible. There's so little substance to each argument that it just becomes a waste of time.

I don't think people who aren't on those teams really have deep knowledge of how they select it. Obviously it doesn't necessarily go to the best player or even the longest tenured player. I guess it's just an in house decision based on some factors we don't know

I don't think you understand your own argument. You're saying that Taeja lost because he sucks at preparation based leagues. I'm saying he lost simply because he didn't play his best, and that it had nothing to do with preparation.

And i don't think you understand that you use assumptions as facts. Even if your statement was true (he didn't play his best), it still isn't relevant. I am not even focusing solely on the "preparation aspect", i also consider the WAY harder competition as a whole.
In the end i don't care why player X won, results speak for themselves.

Your hypocrisy and irrational trash talk of Taeja is pretty on topic actually ^^ just wanted you to see that what you're saying about Taeja sounds pretty funny coming from a fanboy of a guy who has never won a tournament final over a Korean and never went nearly as far in GSL as Taeja who you claim can't win at all in preparation based tournaments.

How is it hypocrisy? And how is it irrational? When i speak about Taeja it simply has nothing to do with Jaedong.
If you can't argue the actual point, just stop posting, srsly wtf man.
I don't think anybody claims that JD is the best in the world, the same can't be said about Taeja though, see the difference?

Yeah sure it is only one series, but "he didn't play his best" is irrelevant.
He didn't win in a tournament with preparation, as usual.
Simple as that

"He didn't play his best" is completely relevant because it has nothing to do with preparation.

No, "he didn't play his best" is a cop out. It simply doesn't matter if you think he only lost "cause he didn't play at 100%", truth is he lost.

And your hero turned down JAGW's offer for more money and so he didn't have to play in Korea so I'm not sure why we're having this discussion

This has nothing to do with Jaedong at all, pls stay on topic, yes?

Yeah JD sux teehee

Nope, it's Bogus

watch out for Gumigod

No chances of entering the Terran top5 before months. Plus his strong TvZ won't be of much use in the first season

Would you say MKP is top 5? I think you would

Lorning top 5:

1. MKP
2. ByuN
3. Maru
4. Polt
5. BitByBiiiiiiiiiiiit!

BitbyBit far too low on your ranking

How can you say that "he didn't play his best is irrelevant"??? It's completely relevant. It's entirely correct, too. Taeja played rather poorly, but that does not mean he is incapable of beating players in a Korean tournament. You have so little actual data to back up the argument "as usual" too. There's a reason why Team Liquid picked Taeja up. It wasn't because he was dominating the foreign scene.

But this discussion over upsets and players not playing well and whatever is horrible. There's so little substance to each argument that it just becomes a waste of time.

How is there a lack of data to back up my claim? tajea never won a gsl or wcs season.
I think we can agree on that.
And no, to excuse the results with a phrase like "he didn't play at 100%) is a non argument.
You could always use it when your favorite players loses and nobody could even argue against it.
Let the results tell the story instead
