No, "he didn't play his best" is a cop out. It simply doesn't matter if you think he only lost "cause he didn't play at 100%", truth is he lost.

And your hero turned down JAGW's offer for more money and so he didn't have to play in Korea so I'm not sure why we're having this discussion

This has nothing to do with Jaedong at all, pls stay on topic, yes?

how can you say that rofl?

He is implying Rogue was the worse player

Oh shit I misread that

Also, why would I be salty?

Was talking about the dude above who said Rogue wasn't the better player. But that conversation is a pile of misunderstandings it seems....

He lost a single bo5 in Korea and everyone goes nuts. He qualified for SSL and GSL when soO and Zest couldn't lol. There is absolutely no way to generalize this result to his future performance in Korea. And to everyone saying he sucked in Korea before has selective memory and forget his deep GSL runs

Qualifier are more like weekend tournaments
I mean i am not saying that Taeja is bad, but i would sigbet (if i could, haha) that Taeja won't win a single korean tournament next year (probably even that he won't get to a semi final)

And I'll counter sigbet that Jaedong won't show up to one. The only Korean tournaments are GSL and SSL anyway. And I really don't understand why weekend tournaments are scoffed at by the community. They're just as difficult to win as longer events, it just takes raw skill instead of planing and preparation. Like if Taeja won a weekend tourney in korea would people still belittle it?

I don't think you understand your own argument. You're saying that Taeja lost because he sucks at preparation based leagues. I'm saying he lost simply because he didn't play his best, and that it had nothing to do with preparation.

There's a line though between Taeja bashing or claiming he isn't a very good player and "welcome back to Korea" which just states that the competition there is much tougher than what Taeja has been playing/winning.

Notice how Taeja never won WCS America. He always has the potential for deep runs in even the most stacked of tournaments. He had a bad series, but he's still a top 5 terran imo

Top2 without much question

Your hypocrisy and irrational trash talk of Taeja is pretty on topic actually ^^ just wanted you to see that what you're saying about Taeja sounds pretty funny coming from a fanboy of a guy who has never won a tournament final over a Korean and never went nearly as far in GSL as Taeja who you claim can't win at all in preparation based tournaments.

Why do you keep mentioning JD, this is absolutely ridiculous lol.
Cause the foreign weekend tournaments lack the competition of the korean standard leagues.
Sure you might have to win vs one or two code s class players to win that tournament, that isn't enough in code s though.
It isn't only about the format, it's also about the difficulty of competition.

Yeah sure it is only one series, but "he didn't play his best" is irrelevant.
He didn't win in a tournament with preparation, as usual.
Simple as that

"He didn't play his best" is completely relevant because it has nothing to do with preparation.

No, "he didn't play his best" is a cop out. It simply doesn't matter if you think he only lost "cause he didn't play at 100%", truth is he lost.

Come on guys. You know in your heart that that series is a dumb basis for your "welcome to back to Korea" and "lulz Taeja can only do well at foreign tournaments" shitposts

Why?

Because it was one single series and he didn't play his best.

And your hero turned down JAGW's offer for more money and so he didn't have to play in Korea so I'm not sure why we're having this discussion

This has nothing to do with Jaedong at all, pls stay on topic, yes?

Your hypocrisy and irrational trash talk of Taeja is pretty on topic actually ^^ just wanted you to see that what you're saying about Taeja sounds pretty funny coming from a fanboy of a guy who has never won a tournament final over a Korean and never went nearly as far in GSL as Taeja who you claim can't win at all in preparation based tournaments.

Tbf you're both sniping at each other. Just chill out and step away for a bit, this is why I always back off from TL if someone I like loses
