Yeah, they are using a lan-equivalent environment. None of the breaks yesterday would have been solved by a LAN. According to blizz, they were hardware problems, due to some power outage. (for the people too lazy too read the mod note)

The games where laggy in game because of "something", so by going purely on what we saw on the stream and player reports. The game was still laggy beucase of "something", theres little to NO delay on LAN.
Clearly the solution they have is not good enough.
edit: And possibly requires a real internet connection to still work.
But LAN wont fix power outages which they suffered from as well.

I'm guessing the power outage damaged a switch or something and it kept on failing every now and then (and they couldn't find it). But not opposed to having LAN implemented obviously

Yeah, they should've been teammates for 3-5 months depending on when exactly Life joined ZeNEX (Liquipedia says Feb '11, but it's hardly an exact date). Taeja joined SlayerS in May if I recall correctly, so they might have some history killing nerds together online
