The rally distance is only very long on Catallena (when Zerg takes the furthest fourth) and Deadwing. It also works both ways, if for instance you lose a fight on cross Deadwing as a Terran, Zerg won't be immediately in your base with the counter.

This is by far the biggest map pool we've ever had, with only one map being smaller than Whirlwind... so is map size not that big a deal after all? You can't judge on pure length/width alone, it's about the rush distance combined with airspace and chokes. This season's map pool has more abusable air space and chokes combined with less blinkable ledges. Also, the maps like Deadwing and Nimbus that are truly huge have compensating Terran-favoured factors like Nimbus' natural being super-vulnerable to drops and Deadwing having architecture that benefits Tanks and multi-pronged aggression (although TvZ you still don't want to see Deadwing).

Depends if you ask Terrans or Zergs^ Anything that favors T drop play also favors muta play, so TvZ isn't as much affected as TvP. On Nimbus you basically have to hope the T messes up or play Phoenix colossi. It's a fundamentally bad map for this match-up, far more than Yeonsu. Wouldn't totally agree on that. Some maps are better for dropping then defending against drops, imo. :-P I know very little about TvZ since I play P, but what I mean is what gives you drop opportunities should open symmetric muta harass opportunities. This does not hold for TvP where harass is more done via zealots warp-ins.
