Well, considering I barely know my own motivation for doing or thinking things most of the time, I can only guess at the reasons. I think it has to do with the fact she played what I found really boring Zerg for a long time but as she doesn't usually do that nowadays I'm not sure.

The extractor is surrounded by probes. The screen says victory. A huge sigh of relief is visible on his face, as he brings the series to a score of 2 to 1 in his favor. This is his tournament to win now. Only one more win against a tyrant that is looking like a resurgent form of his Brood War self. The rush of adrenaline he felt was unlike anything he's ever felt while competing, unlike anything he's felt before.

One year later and he's hungry. After Stardust's spectacular win at Jönköping he didn't fade out of existence, but he definitely was not satisfied. He's always been a contender in Europe, feeling his strength in online qualifiers and good showings in WCS. A few semifinals, a bunch of top 8's, but nothing that satisfied the palate. He's a professional, and while placing high and earning money is nice, a professional has one desire: winning. It must be hard to imagine how soO feels after him being countlessly denied this ultimate desire. Stardust is thankful that he's already had that victory on the stage, but one isn't always enough. His teammate jjakji won a GSL, the hardest tournament in the world, and has not found success since. It's the constant desire to prove oneself. Prove oneself not to just to the fans, the spectators, but to prove oneself to oneself. TaeJa can win 11 premier tournaments because he constantly proves himself. Stardust has been itching for that desire.

4-0 against San and, with relative ease, he got it. One year prior, he lifted his Dreamhack star with smiles and with pride. But there were doubters, as they always are, with criticism towards being "just another toss all-in-er". Crafted masterfully or not, he was always gonna get that, and now here he is, proving to the world that he is not just some cheesy protoss feeding off the backs of the weaker European scene. He's the real deal, a WCS champion, and he's shown all the critics otherwise.

Typing out "gg", he takes a sip from his water, sinks in his chair and closes his eyes. Frustrating back to back losses on the ladder against ForGG and YoDa. He's facing MMA in the first round and these losses pushed that fact to the front of his mind, making him frustrated and nervous. He won WCS Europe, he won Dreamhack Summer, but of course he's not done there. There's always the strive to be able to the best out there, the best in the world. Blizzcon is not an easy tournament by any stretch of the imagination, and he sometimes wonders if he really can find success there. Do I really belong there? Am I just some lucky protoss who by chance has a ticket to Blizzcon just to get absolutely demolished?

Of course not. What stupid questions. He then realizes that of course he's there for a reason. He won WCS Europe, and he's in the top sixteen of players in 2014. He's going to Blizzcon because he belongs there. He's already proven he has what it takes to win a tournament. He's proven he's more than just Cheesedust. He's proven that he deserves to be in the top sixteen players of the world.

There's a trophy waiting in Anaheim. It doesn't matter if others think his name is not on it. He knows that all he has to do is prove it.

It was late – herO didn’t need any clock to tell him that. The quiet of the practice room, the darkness that was normally hidden behind the glow of many monitors and the silence that was broken by only a single set of peripherals was heavy. soO deserves it even more, but I just don't see him winning. He'll most probably choke. It would be funny to see casters hype him up to the finlas though, just so he can lose. Like Jaedong last year. That was kinda funny.

Am I the only one condused with the double preview articles ? Like we have the "road to Blizzcon" articles and the TL Strat preview. It feels kinda redundant to have 2 articles on the same player at the same time. Except for Classic, 'cause he didn't get his TL Strat preview (or did I miss it ?)...

No I find it quite good to have them separated, although the best thing would have been to have them separated but still being in the same article (I mean like they do with the two-players battle reports or like they did with the HerO/TaeJa hype article for... BlizzCon last year? Or was it DH Winter?). And yes you probably missed Classic's TL Strat preview since it was not linked in the Road To BlizzCon article.

It would be best, but TL writers and TL strat work separately ~~and hate each other due to the secret incident where [redacted]~~ and besides their previews focus on fairly different aspects, the writers on the story being developed and the strategy team on their playstyle, so it isn't too bad.
