QXC's answer at IEM Toronto didn't left me satisfied at all, cloak buff is of course a big factor but seems to me like the change happened way after that and quite suddenly. What happened, did Terran suddenly realised gas first hellion/marines drop were good?

Dammit, just realized I will be halfway across campus when this starts. I will have to resort to the unusual technique of "traveling LR", as I do need to get back to my dorm as fast as I can. There are only 3 series though so it shouldn't be too hard.

To be respectiev to Catz, I think his overall point is more that you wouldn't be able to see the difference if Neeb played vs a foreigner of his own skill level. When he is up vs a better player, it always become obvous.

Say Polt has prepared only for Major and then Heart, thinking Neeb doesn't have a shot at winning vs them. He would then be at a disadvantage in a round robin format, since he would for sure have to play Neeb.
Now I know that probably wasn't the case and wouldn't have affected Polt, but in theory it could be so.

It was always good. The maps got smaller, increasing aggression and there were just more TvTs played so you could see it. Some guy on KR/NA/EU found the new aggressive TvT and its spread like wildfire and now here we are.

That was the most underwhelming series I've ever watched. Heart looked like he was at least two leagues ahead of him. Really wish Major had showed up. Would have been a much closer fight.

Banshee is the main problem, because it made the hellion/marine drop good in the first place (it suck hard against the two FE build, reaper and 15gas). Since banshees are a problem ppl get ravens, and auto turrets are really really good in early game tvt (like locust good) and someone figured out what made TvT a shit mu: if you go for a double drop with 8marines and 2tanks + auto turret, if you land uncontested you win the trade 100% of the time.
I'd say it's players figuring out how to play around banshee openings. Gas first vs gas first isn't great in any case but the double drop madness makes it 100% stupid.
