Give me your arguments. Nope. He's the best Maru is better! Give him the chance playing in DHs, HSCs and IEMs and he would be swimming in money already. Just like Innovation right? Oh wait. All 3 are amazing Terrans, but you cant just assume Maru would win in these environments just because you want to believe.
I just want to answer to this never-ending "who is the best terran"-talk. It makes so much fun, discussing a whole life about the same thing, doesn't it? TaeJa, Maru, Bbyong, Polt, INoVation Top5 currently maybe, I would lay my head out of the window for that, but picking one of them is just silly.

Great finals, wonderful event. Thanks to IEM, the players, casters and hosts for a superb tournament, even through the issues you guys had the first few days.
Congrats to TaeJa once again. Can't wait to see him and Solar at IEM Worlds.

They're both doing military service, but retirement? It's not impossible to come back, especially for Taeja given how young he is. I think Taeja's going out on his terms because of his wrists. Bomber, I could see him trying again in a couple years. People have done their time and come back before. Stardust was on Air Force ACE. Bomber is a bit old to come back after at least with any resemblance to his former self. People forget he's been around for a long time, being on estrO back in BW

Weak competition blah blah blah.
You think 17-0 is impressive? Maru would go 34-0 in the same tournament, in only 17 games.
Anyway - great tournament. Solid finals - 4 hours till PROLEAGUE! :D

I think Taeja is overall the greatest SC2 player ever. Definitely for tournaments.

Give me your arguments. They are already spewing the "weekend tournaments dont count" mentality - its fucking classic. I don't get this. I'm a zerg player and I love Solar but I have to tip my hat to Taeja. He's damn incredible. The moment that made it for me was when some banes were charging a bunker defending his natural, and he unloaded them, targeted them down and got back into the bunker to finish the rest off. All while macroing and attacking Solar in 2 different places. I mean, damn... what can you do as Zerg vs that skill.
This. That and the blind tank and hold on game 6.

he wouldnt get far in any of those... as there is no time for preparation... and as we have seen how "great" kespa players are without preparation... looking like headless chickens, doing stupid mistakes and getting flustered all the time
the reason why taeja doesnt do well in tournaments with preparation is the fact that he doesnt cheese, so there is nothing to prepare... he plays pretty standard... but he is vulnerable to those that prepare for his standard play and cheese him and exploit it!
Pure skill is the best for weekend tournaments... thats why he wins everything, because he is probably most skilled player in the world... but when preparation comes in, well... other are prepared for him, but he still plays the same... and funny enough, still gets far in those tournaments too, and beats top kespa players... just doesnt win the tournaments

IEM always one of my fav tournaments

redeye and Susie used the term in interviews with Zest and other koreans
to distinguish the koreans that play in foreign tournaments from the koreans that play primarily in korea

That's because of the difference between WCS KR and every other event in terms of level of skill. Sure, this IEM was very stacked but would you say it was as stacked as a GSL? In my ***********opinion********** it was not. Taeja did well in GSL when he participated but did he dominate there? No. Because a heavyweight can consistently dominate lighter fighters but that does not mean that he would dominate other heavyweight fighters as much.

I laugh at those that say Taeja is a loser because he isn't in the GSL.

Do you actually watch other sports?
No one in their right mind would say the Rangers were the second best NHL team this season. There is such a thing known as "extenuating circumstances." Just because the Rangers won the weaker Eastern conference doesn't mean they're good. It means they won the weaker Eastern conference.
