Hey guys. I spoke to this on TL but it is getting a lot of attention here. First off, it isn't acceptable. Not by any stretch of imagination. Players were emailed and skype notified weeks in advance but also continuously as time went on. JD showed up 5 minutes after start time (1am his time), Huk showed up at 8:58am which is 2 minutes before start time but 3 minutes after announce player time. Xeno has school, Suppy is in China and Demuslim has no computer due to TI4 quals being ran at the GD Studio. Thorzain is basically retired (more on that later) and Stephano doesn't play in this league. I was available to play but I had no teammates on at announce time so I didn't want to waste Take's production team time or Millenium's time. It's all kinds of bad. Embarrassing for EG, unfair to the tourney organizers who were counting on this content, the participants of the tourney as Millenium gets a 5-0 win etc.. I won't make excuses and I can't promise "heads will roll" but I can humbly say EG is sorry to you the fans and everyone involved. I can tell you moving forward with EG's reduced roster and our travel demands we probably will not be doing team leagues in the future. It's really difficult on our squad and can lead to us fucking up on this scale Sorry again.

of course, he couldnt know that when he had to announce a player, but well

Exactly. EG already received a penalty point during their match against Yoe Flash Wolves for failure to announce their first player on time. They didn't learn from that mistake, and I doubt they'll learn from this one, at least until the sponsors start complaining that they don't want their brand associated with no-showing.

6 players were 2 are not full pros are just a thin roster for a league with a lot of games like ATC.

I think Incontrol should have played. Later he would have both JD and HuK available and they wouldn't get rekt in map score at least

Except Geoff didn't know that HuK and Jaedong would eventually be ready. Geoff would have had to start the game under the impression that only he was playing. HuK and Jaedong came on after it was time to announce who was playing for each team, so Geoff would have only had himself.

Congratz to both EG and millenium.
Eg management wins this week's Topest of kek management, with not even one but ZERO player available ! I too really think incontrol should have started the match, you never know...Just go macro game while the rest of EG staff is trying to reach the other players...I don't know but i feel kinda insulted as a viewer that they did not even make the effort to send at LEAST one player.
Millenium winning luckiest team award of the week.

And I thought EG is full of professional players, well disapointting

There's no easy solution, since I think tiebreaks are determined by maps won and not map difference (not 100% sure though). That could end up hurting Mill. But give them 5 wins, and it hurts the teams who had to play EG's full lineup

Thank you. In that case, it is not as big of an impact, but if map difference is the same, then it would be maps won, which would hurt Mill.

I can not fathom why incontrol would just let them forfeit rather than play and a) go for the all kill (possible, was not going to happen, but worth trying), or b) hope somebody shows up (two players would have been there). IMO shows a mental state for incontrol where he will never be semi competitive again, and is more suited to cast/host/stream.

I think jumping from "iNcontroL announced a forfeit because he was the only one ready to play on time" to "iNcontroL won't ever be competitive anymore" is quite a non sequitur. I think the bigger issues are the lack of communication between EG members, the question of how well they're able to make commitments, and whether or not EG will be penalized for this. I believe Geoff already commented on how they're not going to be making very many team-related commitments, due to how scattered they are. At least he's been transparent about the fuck up.

interesting..............
I thought these are progamers and EG was a big legit company.
I can't believe no one showed up on time. Most people can't just skip a meeting or not show up at work...
For EG's image, it would be good to fine the people that showed up late :/ not alot but just to show that they are working to improve
