And now the PvP geniuses in the finals... Fitting, poetic and just. sOs winning another 100K will be huge! herO winning 3 IEMs in under a year will be huge.
Have stayed up all night watching everygame and loved every minute of it.
Prediction: sOs 4 - 2 herO ... sOs exhibits why this game of SC2 is fucking brilliant...just when you doubters, haters, and know it alls think you have the game figured out, pinned down and pidgeon holed...sOs comes along and shows you creativity in never seen before strategies and compositions at the most elite level possible.
CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!
Thank you IEM, thank you SC2 pros, thank you TL and thank you Twitch.
herO vs Polt all maps and only one of Life vs Taeja? I question this

The string quartet and clarinet quintet are far too refined and self-restricted. Might be just a product of the classical era of the 18th century, but there's a lack of any real emotion in either one of the two.
I don't care if Don Giovanni took an hour or a year to write. Composing isn't a race. At least this one isn't banal like a lot of his other works, but it's still not anything like the huge reputation we give him for some reason.
Mozart wrote most of his work to a formula, and it survives because the formula was in style at the time. He was the child pop star of his day, and wrote for anyone who would pay him money because that's how he made his living. His art wasn't primarily for the sake of exploration or discovery or beauty, it was for bread. Maybe he was a musical genius, but it's not evident in most of his music.
Beethoven is a brilliant composer of the Classical era. Haydn is a brilliant composer of the classical era. Mozart is not.
Also lol wut

I guess you haven't looked through the same cage as Salieri did in Amadeus. Though I'm not jealous (not like Salieri was, anyway), just in awe and glad we have what we do.
How did it get to this anyway? I'm cheering for sOs and don't mind a PvP finals. It beats PvZ more often than not.

Schubert for me is the ultimate composer...and the String Quartet in D minor including the string quintet in g minor by mozart were both huge for Schubert... 1) they push the texture possible for chamber music and 2) they are highly emotional and force the sonata model to bend to emotional tension.
Beethoven agreed, Haydn was a very good composer,,,but only that - not genius.
As for composing as a race...that was not my point...my point was: to produce music of such a high quality in such a short time is an apt example of why Mozart is a giant still today.
The jealousy of Salieri is purely fictional - Play by Peter Schaeffer...
PS: gooooo sOs!!!

What would I do with a 100K? Put a deposit down on a house, give some money to my parents, and blow a little on hookers.

sOs already got his 100k check at blizzcon so I gotta root for herO this time

Lengthen the LR? I mean, I can probably deliver another 5 pages by miscapitalizing SoS's name again...

I like Haydn's music because it's happy beyond just the neutral-happy in vogue at the time. The trumpet concerto for instance shows off the trumpet player's skill while still offering a lot of emotion.

yeah the final symphonies of Haydn show an extreme mastery of the form also...I like Haydn - just Mozart and his Spanish contemporary Arriaga have that certain radicalism in their best compositions that foreshadow the Romantic era more than Haydn does I feel....Especially Mozart in his more daring compositions like the Dissonant Quartet.
Ps: sos 4 - 2 herO
