I've never been away from the scene so long as of late. I watched Polt vs Hero yesterday by accident, and realized just how terrible painful it is to see SC2 right now. If I was in hell, I'd imagined myself being a professional Terran player.

Let's never do that again. Why so? except for the PvP, this tournament format was alot more interesting. Protoss is just boring to watch. Because the finals are basically the end The culmination of a tournamet of how a tournament is remembered. When we look back on this in 6 months it won't be my god that Jjakji vs Revival series was godly, it will be remember that time sOs proxy double gated his way to 100k. Thanks IEM! Just like noone remembers scarlett bomber, or polt's run at iem köln, right? Well I had to write two articles about Duckdeok's and sOs' run at Blizzcon before anyone would even talk about it instead of Jaedong at Blizzcon. sOs beat the true champion in the ro4. He would obviously win Blizzcon.

Let's never do that again. 4 days of wins for herO pissed down the drain in 20 minutes of the worst final in history, jesus. Though I feel really bad for herO (and I was cheering for him), and though this final was by many standards quite poor (though not by the series planning one, sOs played that really well), I still think it was something to try out once. And I think this is the reason for which we got so many awesome games in the bracket, but in the current metagame with a lot of protoss, that could also lead (and it did) to such a final. So I wouldn't call that a disaster, but rather an experience with its drawbacks and its advantages. Because let's be honest. It's a shame, but if you want people to give it all, you got to put a lot of money on the table. Make it this "allin-ish", and you'll get some of the best SC2. I'm totally not in favor of doing this often, though. Once a year could be a good frequency. Except the games at IEM Cologne were just as good. There is no hard evidence that WTA produces better games because the players are trying 'harder'. Let say we have a tournament where the loser actually loses money, will the games be better? I don't believe so.

Game1: Proxy 2 gates in herOs base from sOs. Game2: Proxy 2 gates in herOs base from sOs. Game3: Blink all in from sOs, DTs from herO. sOs saw the DTs and ggd. No units were harmed in the progression of this game. Game4: Blind nexus first from sOs, herO with a 3 gate blink all in. All in failed due to a Robo sOs built. Game5: Failed proxy gate from herO. Took me longer to write down, than the games actually lasted. Atleast game 3 was really good, and both player could have won that till sOs cleared his base

Inca v Nestea We got to go back to WoL year 1. DAmnnnnnnnnnnnnnn I think people forget how bad marineking vs MVP was, it was pretty much MVP breaking marineking before the matches even began and laughing to the bank. What'd MVP do? Wasn't as much what MVP did as much as what MKP didn't do. Which was anything, he just kinda rolled over.

These finals were more anti - SC2 than any finals I can remember. It is not like early WoL days when nobody knew how to play and what creep spread is. It was basically a ruthless "slaughter" for the money. And people who just kept looking at that viewer count should realize that at everything above 60-70k were probably not your regular SC2 viewers at all.
