I met a diehard military guy from Taiwan whom still beleives in the old-fashioned ROC being the rightful owners of China. It's unlikely that Has believes that, but wanting the ROC flag is different from identifying with being Taiwanese because at the end of the day it's still the flag of the ROC, not ROT. | ||

And many people in Taiwan identify themselves as both Taiwanese (nationality) and Chinese (ethnicity), since there was a large flux of mainlander migrants following Chiang Kai-Shek's retreat to Taiwan in 1949. | ||
