With Intel Extreme Masters Cologne coming up in February, it's time for the participants to be determined. Two players will have the Chance to qualify online again!
Two of the best players from Asia will qualify for Cologne. You must advance through 2 stages to do so. See below the information of the Asian Finals
Schedule
Asia Finals : Thursday, Jan 23 8:00am GMT (GMT+00:00)
In a Best of 3 map veto (removal and pick) system is used. The high seeded player(seeds can be found at round 1 on the grid page) decides who starts. Players take it in turn removing maps until only 3 maps remain in a best of 3. Then each player picks a map. Maps are played in order they are picked. The remaining map is played last.
SEA was not excluded from this tournament at all. What happened was that since there was only little time to announce and run the qualifier, it has been preferred to have the players selected based on their rankings instead of running a last minute qualifier that could have gone wrong. We apologize for such a thing happening and promise this will not happen again.
Well, a friend of me from SEA wanted to participate but now he didn't have a chance to. And why do you say "there was only little time"? There was the same time for every region. It seems that you just didn't take care of the planning for SEA as early as you did for the others. Anyway, I will remember your promise.
To be honest Maru is one of those players that actually seems to perform worse online than in live matches so I'm not to surprised he went out. Cure is starting to look pretty good though and that's definitely a good result for him.

he knows, that's why he built excess queens and nydus and you can break through a 2 base muta build with a lot of roach and queens and nydus since curious had to cut down on drones earlier and not enough spines to defend

Clearly you and Jaedong know zvz much better than I do
I'm so happy that Jaedong still tries to make it work without Swarmhosts. It will lose him some games but benefit him in the long run and is way more exciting .

I just wish he'd do it without going roach/hydra. That composition is almost as boring and five times worse.
Arrghh so frustrating watching JD's games today! I don't know what it is, mechanically he is going pure beast-mode, but his unit comps don't seem to be stacking up well against his opponent's.
It feels like the only Zergs at the moment that have the decision-making plus the mechanics are DRG and Soulkey. I dunno... Watching JD on ladder recently and he has been destroying protoss players, even on maps like Alterzim and Yeonsu.

He makes bad units. That's it. If he'd play swarm host more often I'm confident he'd do far better against toss. Muta base trade too. Making roach/hydra against someone like Rain on a huge map, it's never going to work, it hasn't worked since 2012. It's just about making bad stuff and then dying to good stuff.

Yea I guess. He seems to go Swarm Host a lot on ladder too, so I don't know what happened here.
