I dont know, personally I'd like something more hype, if you want. Maybe let 7th/8th from each qualifier fight for the slot in a bo5 single-elim bracket or something. Just giving it to someone will always create a backlash. duckdeok had a premier spot though, giving top-6 a challenger spot and 7&8 a possibility for a premier spot would´nt make much sense. You could have the 7&8 compete for another challenger spot though and have the winners of season 3 challenger brackets (who are in challenger atm.) have a mini-tournament for the last premier spot.

Problem is the mini-tournament would be atleast 24 players. If they would do a small tournament or something to fill the last premier slot, they'd need atleast 2 more Challenger players, but those 2 would have to face each other anyways, because not enough players could be seeded, unless they would randomly seed one of the qualified players (which would leave them open to all kinds of shit nobody would want)
It'll be a mess in any scenario. Unless duckdeok decides to play.

I don't see any times for the WCS NA? Doesn;t that begin tomorrow too?

Can there be a loser tournament in connection to the challenger league? One extra spot for the best of the losers in challenger, that would make challenger a bit more exiting too actually. ![](/mirror/smilies/smile.gif)
On a different note, thanks for creating this thread, really looking forward to this weekend!

Well the first qualifier links to a different page with " You do not have permissions to view this tournament!" Qualifiers 2-4 are viewable for me currently, but I bet that will change once signups are over. The bracket information reads " Visibility Private" at the moment for the other qualifiers.
And "highlight casts" sound like a pretty bad joke to me tbh.

But ESL just allows all the community casters to join and pick some games to cast, I dont know why NASL doesn't do it? Just make sure the games are smoothly and that the deciding games are casted on some channel. Not a big deal imho.

Didnt the european qualifiers last season get like 10k views on the main channel? Well I wont understand why they wont allow anyone to cast any games, I remember the Zerg Illuminati+Juan stream a couple of games only to get shut down. Especially with the new system there will be many more Americans to follow/hope for qualification. And I bet theres an audience for it.
Replaycasts just arent the same, and keeping results private annoys me to no end.

Oh I am not sure, but NA is no EU I remember that cast and I really, really enjoyed it, I was kinda mad, when they shut it down because it was fun + plenty of insights. I wonder if anyone is in contact with NASL to at least get a statement from them, why they do it the way they do it ^^

MLG also always had private brackets for their Arena qualifiers and the results got leaked every single time, but they didn't care at all - it's just an American thing I guess.
Maybe they want everything broadcasted in connection with WCS have the same standard so they won't allow anyone but themselves to stream.

That would be an 8-man tournament with Welmu, Naniwa, Lucifron, Starbuck, Happyzerg, Bunny, Tefel and Showtime, so it could be done on one or two days.

Oh I misunderstood you then. Yeah, that would be pretty great, but I dont know. It would leave 23 players in Challenger with 24 qualifiying, so they'd need to play another small tournament to fill the 25th qualifier slot. I dont know, it'll probably be complicated either way

In either case, lets hope, that they announce it soon.

To me that sounds standard american.
And there is good reasons for it since so many qualifiers in the past have been messed up. The deeper cause of that problem is the lesser presence of grass roots and cups in NA.

More likely they will keep duckdeok in the groupstage bracket giving wo to all of his opponents, as for Stephano last year
