It's far harder for them to learn the language. All European languages except Finnish, Estonian and Hungarian are more or less related to English, so learning it is rather trivial for us. For them not so much.
e: Well, and Maltese.
french isn't related to english yet all french players speak in english.dutch isn't related yet all dutch players speak in enlish.russian,polish,swedish,norwegian arent related to enligsh yet all the proplayers speak in enligsh.the south koreans aren't even trying.
You are either wrongly generalising or just ignorant. There are several Korean players that have very good English that's good enough for interviews. MC, Stardust, Polt, DongRaeGu and JD come to mind. For the Koreans, it's a lot about not wanting to speak English because they feel they're not good at it, whereas all Europeans speak English even when some of them would be better off with a translator because it's fucking impossible to understand what they're saying.
you are obviously contradicting yourself.they can not speak intelligible english.leenock,stardust,jd,mc mutter a few words.they can not link phrases or construct a sentence.and the idea that foreigners are worse at english is just absurd.foreigners give interviews in english all the time.show me a foreigner worse at english than a korean
1) No, they do not "mutter a few words", they speak English that I can understand as a non-native speaker. Stop with the bullshit please.
2)
i never mentioned polt.and your only counter example is one that studies at an american university.besides polt,violet and dragon and maybe mc hit me with a known counter example from the koreans and chinesse who constantly come to foreign tournamnets.i would prefer good examples form taeja,jaedong,hero,hyun,life,innovation,stardust,nestra,mvp,mma,duckdeok etc
Holy shit you are insufferable and the most amusing part about all this is that your English is terrible

@xoronius
all languages are different amongst one another.there is no such thing as a more difficult or easier language.and in the gsl there were plenty of koreans to compensate for the 4 foreigners.
For example German and Sweden is VERY close to english.
Finnish, Estonia and Hungary are only outsiders.
In my University, I see Japanese/Chinese/Korean international students people taking each other's language courses. It was the first time they took the language technically, but they get the easiest A's ever. I guess by perfidiusrex's logic, we should blame English speakers for not trying hard enough in learning the eastern asian languages.
I agree with the guy saying they should learn better English, but the true limit is the fact that they play 16 hours a day in front of a computer and so I doubt they would have much time learning english
They should install the english version of SC2 and learn sentences like 'In the rear, with the gear'

still, french is a latin langage and english is a german one. there are tons of english words in the arabic langages and they are not related...

ofc they get As. otherwise non-asian students would have no chance to pass the test.
