I think we really need to do a better job of defining what classifies as a premier tournament because nowadays it sounds like anything and everything. ._.

I go with what Liquipedia says;
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Premier_Tournaments
I don't know how they decide though.

probably pricepool >= 25 000 $

RBBG wasn't a premier because it was an invitational (even though half the invitations were Code S-tier players)

But they did classify RBBG as a premier: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Premier_Tournaments

Probably because there were a bunch of competitive qualifiers for it, and most of the 8 players are world class.

Well, those criteria are not really sharp...

ASUS ROG has exactly 25k price pool and exactly 1 free qualifier out of 16 players - LOL. So exactly meeting the Premier criteria.

Still is NOT AT ALL comparable to for example Dreamhack Winter, WCS Blizzcon World Finals, WCS S3 Finals or IEM New York.

There is a new definition in 2014 provided by blizzard.

How does it feel being so much of an hater that you dream of a "perfect scenario" where one player lose, just because this player is popular ?

Not just becasue he is popular. I'd love to see EG lose any day especially to someone like Scarlett. But seeing the hope and hype just crash and die for JD fans would be a great trade off for an entire year of shitposting sheep.
RIP Starcraft scene in the UK. Defeated by EG money and Swedish Zergs.

That situation is almost as bad as Innovation sweeping Jaedong and Scarlett without even looking vulnerable, while Terrans whine about how Zerg is bullshit in TvZ.

Well you have to draw the line somewhere. One can still value GSL higher than ASUS ROG while classifying both as premier.

Yea but 4times the exact same way? might as well do something else and check once a while.
If you want him to loose 4times in a row at least think of interesting variable scenarios.

i hope that JD wins, but i doubt that he will.

if innovation beats him, inno wins the tournament. if JD wins here, scarlett will win by default despite JDs good zvz.

No matter what definition you use for a premier tournament there will always be stronger and weaker tournaments within that definition. Look at the WCS last year. There was no difference in format or prize money between WCS NA and WCS EU so it would be weird to me to consider one a premier tournament but not the other, however many consider WCS NA to have been a harder tournament.

Acer loyalty program is one hell of a thing. It would be fun with all the "OMG FOREIGNER/JAEDONG" innovation just crushes them both and crushes all dreams with a simple -_- (And a hellbat drop)
