If you call racism I bet we could get NASL to fire another intern.

Probably because it's a short notice thing, and the rules are based on as it happens. Since it's offline, you can't start making exceptions here and there with no way to check, otherwise someone could ask 30mins before the game "oh, can we play later because my internet is dead", and since he's who knows where, no one can check, and it screws everyone over. Scarlett gave advanced notice, so it's different.

How big of Internet issues might that be? A city is down?

The other players were probably ok with playing on October to accompany and make arrangement for Scarlett's breaks. But right now, they cannot wait too long for Polt or it may screw up whatever schedules they have. And what would they do for 1 hour? Drink water?

This... what's up with WCS AM? Sure, computer problems suck. But I mean - it's not Polt's fault! And he is a champion after all... :o
I really hope he gets to the loser's match.
Any one knows some details about the problems?

Getting hydrated before a game is probably a good thing!!!! But I see your point. I'm just sad T_T.

The #WCS American Champion Polt disqualified because his Internet is down, as is a lot of the Austin area right now. Sad for Polt, and WCS.
The Internet issue isn't exclusive to Polt, but the entire city of Austin.

I'm just upset about it what they are doing about it is unreasonable it's just a crappy situation to have your champion unable to play due to internet issues .
But you raise good points.

Anyhow it's hard for WCS AM people to make the call due to the popularity of the player. I'd prefer Polt to play but I understand their decision.

Obviously through no fault of his own, Polt has been forced to give up a potential $20,000 in prizes from WCS AM alone, not to mention the season finals...

Unfortunately, Due to technical difficulties Polt was forced to forfeit his first match. We are hopeful that he will be able to make his second match of the night. Thank you for your patience!

I think it'd be better if they made the call based on legitimate proof that the player is not at fault for not being able to play. Polt's whole city is having trouble right now, it's clear he has no blame for this.

Wow, the whole city? This really sucks. :/ Polt being one of the favorites to win it all and now he probably goes out without playing a single game.
