Volunteer! All you have to do is check if there's already a thread for the tournament, or if anyone is scheduled to make the thread. If there isn't a thread and no one is scheduled to do it, you can become the LR OP! We are always looking for new people to help out, especially for WCS AM and EU.

Why should I become a Live Report thread OP?

Being the LR thread OP is hard work, but it's also fulfilling. Hundreds, if not thousands, of people check the LR thread every day, and it is a valuable resource to the community. It's a simple way of supporting SC2, the game we all presumably love :p

Now that I've decided to be a LR OP, what do I do?

First, you have to check the tutorial found here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=408230#2

Next, read up a little on bbcode and familiarize yourself with it. It helps to look at the code for previous LR OPs.

Finally, check your schedule. Are you SURE you'll be around for the duration of the tournament? Are you sure you'll be able to update in a timely manner?

If everything checks out and you've done all of the above, all you have to do is make the thread!

Why isn't anyone Live Reporting?

LRing is tough work, and only a handful of people do it regularly. The most famous ones are Shellshock and The_Templar, but occasionally other people (such as packrat, Yello, etc) do it as well. If no one is available to do it, then there is no LR.

Again, we need more volunteers. Anyone who watches games regularly and types really, really fast has qualifications to become an LRer.

How do I Live Report?

All you have to do is write out what happens during the game. It doesn't need to be complete, but it should be a good summary of the entire game. Supply counts, timings, build orders, and major events are typically what receive priority in LRs. You can read more LRs by Shellshock and The_Templar for a better idea of how to do it.

I'm just driving back from a family holiday so I didn't have time to do a formal write up which I eventually want to do, and it'll be better than this. But in the meantime enjoy this brief write up because I figure its better than nothing.

Group D: The Phantom Group
Two years ago a player nobody was paying attention to got out of his RO16 group in a bizarre brace race against Gumiho after receiving a walkover against Coca. That player, Jjakji would go on to win the first truly exiting GSL finals.

Last WCS season in Korea, Maru came out of a RO16 group consisting of Supernova, Trap and Losira, and went on to beat innovation 4-0 in the finals.

Groups such as this one can produce diamonds in the rough. That rare breed of champion who thinks to himself "well, I've come this far, why stop now?"

The most accomplished in this group is Alive by a wide margin. The IPL 4 Champion capitalized brilliantly on his opportunity to attend the season 2 finnals, and will be looking to continue his success. His first match, against Hack will likely be his hardest. Alive's TvT has never been his strong suit, a mere 52% win rate overall.

Hack hasn't been seen much action in HoTS. His teammate bomber stealing the spotlight lately, while golden and sound were winning red bull events earlier. As such, Hack's performance today is difficult to predict he hasn't gone up against any truly impressive terrans since WoL. This unpredictablity could be an asset here. If he's found time to train with Bomber, then Hack may be able to get by Alive.

The other paring is equally forgettable but in that same way equally promising. Neither Byul nor Arthur have had a breakthrough in SC2 yet, while both of them still have talent. Byul, the other Zerg on the team that produced Nestea and Losira, and Arthur, the last teamless remnant of the Slayer's dynasty. Though Byul's team mates Seed and Yonghwa might be able to give him some tutelage, Arthur's recent PvZ streak in online play will likely give him the confidence needed for their first match.

Prediction:

Arthur 2-0 Byul
