Lol he got dominated, even harder than he did by Polt also I don't think Artosis actually believed that JD would come back from the 0-3 he was just trying to do his job, this doesn't count for the Artosis curse.

JD looked beastly until the finals yet became completely outplayed by Bomber. 3 of the 4 games he opened with tanks! It wasn't just one or two tanks for just in case. He had 3 or more and the last game he basically played WOL doing tank push. Heck, even his marine splits looked amazing. (and normally his splits aren't that great)
The stars aligned this weekend for bomber. I don't think it will happen again but I am glad that Bomber finally got to show off what he's practiced. JD will get his chance again for sure. It was kind of not-so-exciting finals for me despite high level because I was rooting for both the players, lol.

I disagree, I think before the semifinals Taeja was looking the best, then Bomber, then First, then JD

Taeja and First are not the champion materials, IMO. We just have to disagree on that, I suppose.

I actually don't think Bomber was playing up to his full potential this weekend. He had some really sloppy moments early on, but he was just good enough to get through, and that's what matters; he played well when he had to, and played sloppy when he could afford to. I can definitely see why some people would say that Taeja showed better play before the semis.
Yeah, and idk about calling Taeja and First no championship material. It's not like either of them has 0 1st finishes. :/

Taeja is one of those generic terrans who managed to survive after the GomTvT era. He is overly hyped for being in team liquid, but if you look at his games he lacks that something. Brilliance, star sense, aura, whatever you call it.

I could agree with him being over hyped maybe, but he is definitely championship material and has proved it over and over again

I'm not a fan of "foreign teams," but I think he's brilliant, and he has some very clutch plays as well. Maybe I just watched him too much in the Korean Weekly, and I'm still blinded by how many 1st places he took home back then.
He doesn't have an aura of invincibility, but very few players have that these days.

Taeja not champion material? What in the blue hell is this? The guy has won a fuckton of championships compared to most players.

The only player that has more first places in premier tournaments than Taeja is Mvp
just Mvp, no one else.
" not champion material " lol what game have you been watching
If Taeja had won the 5th game against Polt in WCS AM or Bomber here he would have smashed JD just as hard if not harder. Literally one game of TvT separated 3rd/4th and 1st in these tournaments for him.

Did you see him in 2012 when he was pretty much considered the best player? He looked invincible and nearly won IPL TAC on his own.

BTW terrans should acknowledge that marine + tank is just as viable as in WOL. I see more and more terrans doing tank push for whatever reason and they make it work. Perhaps some terrans are too used to mines (*cough* bogus *cough*) and the temporal aspect it provides, but marine + tank still works great if you are willing. Your marines will still get 3-3 way before zerg can have efficient engagements. Heck, it's not uncommon to see just marine + marauder + medivac without any tank or mine for players like MKP or Polt. Unfortunately David Kim likes the randomness of widow mine and thinks it provides "excitement" to viewers so it's unlikely anything will change about widow mines. But it's something to think about. For me marine + tank vs muta + ling is more exciting than marine + mine vs muta + ling.

What was Taeja's highest placing in GSL? (I really don't know so maybe someone can remind me)
