He landed a lot of emps in that fight at the choke position, I am willing to bet he thought he caught more templars with those emps than he actually did so storms surprised him. But his reaction time to storms was bad throughout the game, that is true.

EMP + Radius outranges storm and Feedback and is instant damage/energy removal, rather than an AoE DoT.
High Templars are also pretty slow.
Also with stim you have more chance to get out of the way.
It seems P players just don't have the mindset of needing to split up. I guess it comes with the deathball mentality.
Snipe has the same range.

Hellbats are no problem in lategame TvP. They were as a timing. Nowadays, no one does force you to go mass chargelot because that would be very good against bio, in fact, bio players would have a huge problem with it as the zealot wall usually rarely dies until you have mass ghost or mass marines mixed in. Hellbats help out. You can switch to higher colossus/stalker or archon count. Believe it or not, zealot/archon for example beats hellbat/marauder ;-)
