you can't get knocked out twice in this format, it's not a true double elimination tournament. Not sure how making it bo7 would make him get knocked out twice when a bo5 doesnt. I guess complaining doesn't follow any logics however.

its quite obvious it does not count for the finals since those are bo5, not bo3. It would be so silly to see 3 finals.

Neither Polt nor Hyun got the "lose twice to get knocked out" advantage, instead they were in the lead in extended series in the semi-finals (Polt over Naniwa, Hyun over HerO). Hyun shouldn't feel short-changed, he was in exactly in the same position as Polt when he made it to the finals, neither of the having lost a set.
Double elimination finals are a nightmare for tournament organizers. MLG came up with an interesting (if controversial) way to dodge that.

It wasn't a full double elimination tournament. It was basically 2 groups which used double elimination to pick the finalists. And the finalists had Bo5. It is familiar to GSL, etc where you have groups stages and then playoffs. In GSLs, some winners can lose 2 series while the loser has only lost once as well.
