We know you haven’t heard from us in a while. Originally, our finals were scheduled for June 9th but in a stroke of luck (or imba-ness), all of our top 4 teams were from the Southern California area. As a result, we decided to organize a live event for our Season 2 third place consolation match and finals! The event is to take place on June 23rd, 2013 from 5:30PM - 11:00PM PDT at GamerRealm. Our third place consolation match between San Marino High School and Yorba Linda High School will be played first. Afterwards, the main event will be the Season 2 Finals between Torrey Pines High School and Sunny Hills High School.
For all you other HSL teams out there, in the future we might try to do live events more often if similar circumstances arise or if our divisions become sufficiently concentrated by region, as opposed to the widespread sprawl we currently have.

The YLHS Mustangs have finally managed to get into playoffs after barely missing out by one game in their previous season, and although they were knocked out by Sunny Hills last round, they still are eager to go up against San Marino for the coveted third place spot!San Marino High School - While it may be a newcomer to HSL, SMHS has still managed to pull off a great run into 3rd place consolation match. This relatively new Pasadena team bolsters a strong zerg lineup, with their ace being
Grasscutter. Unfortunately, they were blocked from reaching the finals by the mighty Falcons. While SMHS is a rookie team, it has proven itself a worthy contender for Yorba Linda. Sunny Hills High School - This veteran team has been playing since the inception of HSL. With so much experience, Sunny Hills comes in as a strong candidate for the title. These Fullerton Lancers have reached the finals for the first time and will definitely try to take home the gold. Watch out for players such as xO’s
RevAznDude as they attempt to stop Torrey Pines’ undefeated rampage throughout this season.Torrey Pines High School - A known defender of the realm with experience under its belt, this seasoned San Diego school comes in as the heavy favorite to win. It was the only team to make it to the playoffs undefeated, an even larger achievement when considering that their division housed all four of these semifinalist teams. Ace players include
Sanddbox and

About the HSL
The High School Starleague (HSL), formerly known as the HSSTL, has been operating since 2010. With a successful preseason, partnership with CSL, and initial season, HSL looks to expand High School eSports and perhaps aid to legitimize competitive gaming in the western hemisphere.

Players may change race between matches (weekly), but not between sets (individual games).
The losing team’s next player will pick the next map for games following the first set. He or she cannot select a map that has already been played on.
All observers must be spectators except for HSL Referees and casters.
Spectators are allowed only if both coordinators from both teams agree.
HSL Referees or casters however are always allowed to join.
If any latency issues or stuttering occurs, the problematic spectator must leave immediately. If it is a player who is experiencing these issues, he or she is required to type “pp,” pause the game, and resolve the issue as soon as possible. If the problem cannot be resolved within 5 minutes, a rematch can be requested.
If a player disconnects before 2 minutes, it is a rematch unless in the rare case either player had received a significant advantage through scouting (ex: cheese).
Disconnects past 2 minutes will be resumed with the Recover Game feature.
IMPORTANT: In case of a disconnected game, if there is no HSL Referee watching the game, contact staff IMMEDIATELY. Do NOT watch ANY replay, so we can be sure no one cheats by looking at the replay before the game is resumed. In case no staff member is available, or you see someone reviewing the replay, take a screenshot of them in your friend list showing “Watching Replay”. In case a player experiences software or hardware failure or remains in the game despite lacking control over his units, a game will be resumed at the point before a critical problem begins to occur. In case of dispute, a staff member will review the replay and decide what time is suitable to use Recover Game.
Save all replays for disputes and have one or both teams email us, with a brief analysis included to argue your stance.
In case of match dispute, contact any HSL Staff. If you have a score dispute, please provide a replay. If you do not have a replay saved to defend yourself, staff cannot give you the benefit of the doubt.
If any cheating is suspected, please e-mail the HSL a well-written report detailing who, where, when, why, how, what cheating was used, along with the replay(s) attached.
