While the bio kites backwards, the nuke if caught off guard can hit some units of the Toss army as well. Obviously much easier said than done, but a nuke at mid-late game TvP isn't that expensive, and if a Terran already has cloaking, makes it easier (add to the fact, the ghost is in the back, technically positioned the nuke over the Terran army's original position before kiting). I think it's unexpected, and viable as long as observers aren't around to see a cloaked ghost, the extra insurance in this is as stated in the last paragraph, the ghost is in the back, even if a protoss player sees him, has to advance with a HT for feedback, or his army to kill it before the nuke falls. I mean, that's the kind of thing that works exactly once. Toss will just start bringing observers and knowing to look for the nuke dot. Yeah I agree, I do think Thorzain at the very least should have researched nukes, imagine if he had a few nukes on hand after that 4 marauder drop doing a ton of damage on Elfi's 4th. Could have used the nukes elsewhere on the natural, or even in the main. Nukes are pretty niche, but the constant threat of them does mean the toss player spends less time making colossi and is paranoid about cloaked ghosts by making more observers or placing more cannons defensively. There was a sick game a long time ago where gumiho used nuke harassment against the spread out bases of his opponent. That said I don't really think you're hampering the toss that much. That gas is the same as an upgrade and isn't always worth it.

I say this after watching Thorzain's last game vs. Elfi, I think a ghost used in this way could have been a great deterrent or helped him win the big battle when they were 200/200. Bomber tried that once: + Show Spoiler + i.minus.com/i496Ht5KLWt55.gif I think he was also wanting to be a BM guy like he knows how to be :D

Thorzain teetering on the edge of defeat this game i think. Hellbat Marauder viking, quite a different unit comp, least it hardcounters the stalkers and zealots.

Tzain going for 3rd CC behind it and builds more rax. tzain expanding towards elfi. single upgrades. Elfi expands away from T, researches blink and thermal lance. engagement between bases, forcefields give elfi the edge. Tzain pulls back to 3rd and has to pull scv. elfi backs away- all vikings killed. 2 colossi alive. quote != edit. elfi poking at tzain 3rd base, small path working against him, loses a colossus.
