It's just like flying down to another LAN you qualified for to earn more money similar to MLG's Providence Championship or how about Dreamhack Winter. That's how Blizzard set it up. So the viewer count isn't necessarily just a pure reflection of quality of games, production, players etc... Americans get pretty fucked for gsl finals too. The problem I've always had with it is that last year, WCS wasn't just a qualifier. It was a tournament series that promoted local talent and regional champions, and it ran alongside all the other tournaments. Now, we have a GSL that has less prize money, and two tournaments that are basically "top foreigners vs code B koreans" under the same billing. I feel like a lot of the frustration and bitterness I have with this tournament series is that it shares the name with WCS from last year when it really has very little in common.

The way I deal with it is not comparing the one from last year. They're separate. This new manifestation has some similarities to the one I pictured in my World Tour Circuit but we still have a long way to go until that materializes. As much as I'd like to see my vision come to fruition we'll have to wait it out.

And when they win those they can even get enough momentum to compete with the code S players in the seasons finals (especially since there will be no preparation between matches ). So the overall scene is doing great, and the reduced prize money for gsl finalists is kind of artificial since they are sure to make more during the season finals ( and i guess any finalist is kind of guaranteed to get a spot at blizzcon with that amount of points). And glad that HerO won, it's good to see a TL player on top of a Premier League !

Then yeah, season finals will probably suck.. Hopefully they have enough time to figure that out (here's to hoping they think there IS something to figure out)
