I don't doubt that Hyuk is a good coach (and I know he had a few moments of greatness in BW as a player as well), but that doesn't mean he'd necessarily be competing for GSLs. | ||

No. He's far worse than most of the A-teamers on SKT T1. 30% is NOT an average player, thats a below average player. You are entitled to an opinion however your voice is a very minisecule one...such that I'm unsure if anyone else holds similar views. Right now, what is ace player at the moment is: ~high 50%+, the Proleague stats indicate exactly that, the mid tier being mid 40% -mid 50%. Hyuk is a captain because he's one of, if not the oldest (havent checked the ages exactly). Korean tradition. Oldest always gets the leadership role, unless you are an exceptional player that can't be discounted (ie. Jaedong). He can get coach because of his loyal services with the SKT, (loyalty is awarded far more in korea), and although his skill may not reflect much, he may still possess a brilliant mind (ie Nestea) with just not the right mechanics to back it up. RIght now what I see is a lot of players who are unable to compete with the high level players, and dropping off, receiving that captain role. (Ie. Hoejja, Calm, Hyuk, Leta) one of the few exceptions being ZerO., their role is to retain moral of the team and act like a model citizen. Also, you guys should refrain from personal attacks. | ||

An average players gets less than 50% winrate is because below average players are sent out very rarely, so the average players will face legends and above average players much more often than below average players, they will definitely get a less than 50% winrate. My rule is if the player gets sent out regularly, then he's an above average player, unless he possess some kind of horrible record. And the reason they are old progamers is because they are good enough to be old progamers. Those below average players are all washed out when they were young. | ||

I'm not sure about the math here, but I was told that EG-TL already has no chance to get into the playoffs. EG-TL has 10 matches ahead. Even if they win all of them, they will have a standing of 21-21. I think in all SPL, getting into the playoffs can only be case when you have at least one win more than losses. I don't know the math here but it seems like the case. | ||

I think it may still be theoretically possible, because if they go 4-0 in their next ten matches, they'll have a positive map score. But hoping for that is like hoping to win the lottery. I think EG TL should just try to avoid getting last place and get 7th in the final standings. They'd lose slightly less face that way | ||
