Brackets/Rules are live!
Ignite Gaming Lounge is thrilled to once again host the Ignition Starcraft Open, a HotS tournament held in-house on Saturday, June 29th, 2013!
The prize pool will feature the glory of being the next Heart of the Swarm champion in Chicago, not to mention $1000+ in swag, including SteelSeries pro-gaming peripherals and more! There are only 32 spots, so register now before they're gone!
At the last Ignition Starcraft Open, URHypeR took down the favored Everize for 1st place! Notable (and somewhat less known!) players Crilmon, SCAKamker, [SCS]Cheeto, and gSTARraw took 3rd - 6th, respectively.
Casual players/spectators are welcome to attend - as always, there will be plenty of giveaways and raffles. You may rent a non-tournament PC at Ignite's normal rates, or just stick around to meet and greet the Starcraft community's most high level players!
Additionally, there will be an MLG Viewing Party throughout the afternoon, so you can catch Saturday's MLG action!

I'm looking into why the info form isn't being redirected to, and in the meantime have been e-mailing the form to registrants - thanks for noticing!

That's probably what the problem is - I wasn't able to find anything on PayPal's end. Regardless, I linked to the form in the main post, so it should be fine now Thanks again!

Do I have to qualify for the tournament? Are there any low leaguers?

There are no qualifiers - registration is open to any and all players. There's always a handful of low league players, although most are in masters.
Let me know if you have any more questions!

Is there a finalized player list
|
Player list is now in the main post
|
I see check in is at 11, what time will the tournament begin? just asking because I get off work at 9am. Looking to shower and drive out just wondering how much time I have.
|
would you guys consider making this tournament bigger? 32 spots sold out pretty quickly
|
@slowmo: Matches begin as early as 11AM. At 11:45 sharp your spot gets given away to waitlister, so don't stretch it!
@gNat558: The biggest problem with expanding past 32 spots is that the tournament can no longer fit in 1 day, or there have to be more BO1's (instead of BO3's). I will likely run a poll before the next tournament to find out if players would prefer 2-day, more BO1, or 32-only.
|
Ah google maps says its only a 45 minute drive. I should be there with time to spare!
|
do you ever have anyone unregister? if a spot becomes available could you let me know?
|
@gNat The waitlist is first-come, first-serve on tournament day, so all non-registered players should arrive at 11AM to be waitlisted.
|
Is the bringing of adult beverages allowed?
|
Yes, but you must receive a wristband from an Ignite employee in order to drink.
|
Great tournament. I just really wish there were no 4:3 monitors... really throws people off =/ and its unfair to ask people to play 4:3 vs 16 at the club when back home they play at 16 .
|
wtf...
How do you pay out 620$$ in prizepool with only 640 going in? So confused how this is a viable model.

Ignite covers the cost of all of the PC's/venue/staff for the tournament, as well as provides free prizing for raffles, etc. It's not a viable model for a stand-alone tournament, but it is viable for a gaming lounge

Hey Am0n3r, buying over 50 widescreen monitors is a huge cost; we're slowly replacing all of the 4:3's with widescreens as quickly as we can afford.
