I dont know what is this guy "Titan" doing here as invited player, but that last engagement in the Thorzains 3rd was the most horrible I ve ever seen!!! After several EMPs on his army and the gau still there trying to kill Perfect Bio concave with 1k medivac support..
I understand this is WCS as Strelok said and they are all nervous, but man...You are progamer and have been it for what??? 5 years? This make our ladder seem so bad...

Anyway, I knew that Titan isn't that good at the moment, but I'm really quite disappointed by Thorzain, too. I remember the old days and I kind of feel sad.

Thorzain is essentially undefeatable in late game TvP. Little things like the double barracks walloff on the ramp up to the natural, burning 300m to delay a zealot push into his nat by a good 30s. Brilliant stuff that no one comments on because it's not micro, just strategic.
Protoss players have nightmares about engaging a ghost heavy Thorzain in lategame TvP. I'm not surprised people try and force early engagements.

Is this the new standard required for posting a criticism? What a stupid post.

I do love Thorzain's intelligent play though not the 'spoon' element so much.

I remember watching his games vs mc in tsl ... good times. His macro and especially his micro were so damn good back than.

Titan was quite far ahead before the attack; something which he should have not done. He had his 4th coming up and could start banking minerals and getting more gates. He got too eager and attacked...

Yeah, this was not standard Thorzain at all. Titan I know took time off and was barely playing when HoTS came out (not sure how he ended up invited to Code S), but Thorzain's been practicing in Korea and should theoretically be improving not regressing.

Get ready for the longest TvT series in starcraft history!

Any Protoss with competent decision-making would have been in an awesome position.

yeah true, the barrack walling/choking is a fantastic response against titan's style in both the last games, I also highly recommend it if you're scared about ultras and such ^^ On the other hand, as in every TvP ever on daybreak, he was starting to fall behind to non-stop harass, happily titan was generous and donated his army
TZ played it very proper

Well... Titan needs to learn to get more ahead when he is ahead.

Protoss players have nightmares about engaging a ghost heavy Thorzain in lategame TvP. I'm not surprised people try and force early engagements. Titan just threw this game, I don't think Thorzain is that untouchable in lategame TvP (at least not judging from these games).

Russian WCS Champion who placed 13th-16th in the European finals. It's a good invite but I'm not sure of how much he has played lately. I guess not enough. :/

Thorzain at that engagement just backed into a corner then stimmed and emped with no micro just hoping his medivacs heal through the damage which they did easily with like no AOE.
Thorzain didn't play great at all it was Titan completely fucking up.
Also I wouldn't really call this late game.

How will they handle playing in a studio in front of a crowd? I expect a lot of choking.

He took out Creator pretty handily but bear in mind, Thorzain is the kind of player who appears with specific timings and then practices those timings to excess OR he relies on his lategame control. When he has a timing down he's usually hitting it 10-15s earlier than anyone else.
HoTS hasn't been remotely figured out yet. Give him a few months.

Was about to ask the same question. Titan came really close to winning this series if it wasn't for two horrible unnecessary attacks that cost him game 1 and 3 and he didn't play exceptionally well.
